I often ponder what that would have looked like and looking at the utterly depressing general state of the French Quarter today, whether it might have actually been an improvement over what we got instead.

If there is anything that has worse drinks and crappy souvenir stands than the FQ... it's a casino...

Yeah, but we are talking about Eddie's LUXURIOUS MONTE CARLO STYLE casino here.

What "actual good food" can last all day in a car without needing to be in an ice chest and then somehow re-heated?

If only they had ice chests for vehicles to last all day.

Wait, isn’t this the OT, and isn’t the unofficial coolerYETI?

Well, to make this even more OT-worthy, my Yeti was stolen by the same EBR thugs who relieved my Tundra of its catalytic converter.

We'll land one when they get around to plowing a new leg of Interstate through Cenla. They probably don't want to sink money into the I-10 Crime Corridor, TBH....

You idiot... I said... what can be kept cool and easily reheated on the road?

No food that sits in an ice chest all day and then is eaten cold... is "actual good food".

Oh, I see. I’m an idiot because I must not be aware that good food has to be re-heated food? Stands to reason I suppose when you consider the value placed upon hot food from Buc-ee’s.

Good food hot. Bad food cold. Gotcha

Alternative is to lock them all into a confined area with enough weapons and ammo to get the job done.

Maybe they can hold a Travis Scott concert in an abandoned building.

This is 100% the reason and why they backed out of the BR location

Maybe not the main culprit....but somewhere along I-12 in SE Louisiana is an ideal location.

The the new 6' center divider that they are putting up along I-12 reduces visibility from the opposite direction and hurts prospects for a primarily retail centric location. It makes choosing a location even more difficult, and Buc-ee's already has challenges with that given their needs for a large, highly visible piece of land immediately adjacent to a freeway exit.

There's just not a whole lot of options in Louisiana that fits their needs while also being close enough to some kind of town that can staff the place. The situation with Millerville was unique in that an old golf course closed down in a suburban area and made that development possible. It was choked in traffic and the site was prone to flooding.

Back in the day local lafayette politicians/good ole boys screwed them on a deal where the target location is now. They vowed to never open a location in Louisiana after that.

All I know is that there are super rest stops with big, clean bathrooms every 10 miles or so in Texas. There ain't none from the sabine river to the pearl river in louisiana.

The Millerville location would have been horrible anyways.

Yeah that seemed odd to me also. I have only stopped at a couple of them but aren't Buc-ee's normally outside of or at least on the edge of major population areas? Seems like one outside of Lafayette or the Northshore would have made the most sense. Only thing I could come up with was that someone in Louisiana government was trying to strong arm them into the Millerville location and finally someone with Bucc-ee's said yeah frick that place and pulled out of Louisiana all together.

We have one in Katy (25 miles west of downtown), one Baytown (25 miles east of downtown), one in Hempstead off US290, and one off I45 toward Galveston.

They got us surrounded.

Athens, AL and Auburn, AL just broke ground in October for the 3rd and 4th Buc-ee's in the state. other two are in Leeds, AL and Baldwin Co, Al (Exit 53 I-10).

One also just opened in Calhoun, GA and there is one in Warner Robbins, GA.

Sevierville, TN is also under construction as well as the one in South Mississippi.

Florida now has 2 Buc-ee's locations. One in St. Augustine and another in Daytona Beach. 3rd is about to break ground on I-95 in St. Johns County.

Looks like Louisiana is getting skipped over on purpose because the other southern states are filling nicely. I guessing it has something to do with politics but that is just a guess.

Well first you gotta do a study.
