why would they consistently skip over their own neighboring state?
Rumor is that Ed Orgeron is fixing to open his own chain of gas stations/strip clubs in Louisiana called Brand-ee's.

Your lack of access to actually great food is very sad,
And yet you are the OP. Yes I lack access to great food on the road. I prefer to stop at low priceed gas places that are immaculately clean and offer everything I could want. If that's a cult, then you must not hit the road often.
Truth be known, I'm more of a Lovist because Buccees are fairly rare. Show me on the doll where the beaver touched you.

Yeah, but the first location is in Destin.

I come from the generation who learned how to pack lunches with actual good food before hitting the road. I still do for road trips I know that will take me most of the day.
I know it upsets you, but it’s just weird, and even weirder is your inability to accept a dissenting opinion on a place like Buc-ee’s without it making you upset. That’s brand loyalty gone over the edge, but it does show how easily some become addicts and fans of chains instead of fans of actual great food.

Aplin told Texas Monthly magazine he had plans to grow across the Southeast using the same formula that made Buc-ee’s so popular in Texas: building stores between major driving markets such as Atlanta, Nashville, Birmingham and Charlotte.
So the one Baytown - what major driving markets is it in between? Has Houston to the west and . . .

The old Jazzland location would be perfect

So why'd you start the thread? You're just shitting on anybody who says they like it now, and you came off in your OP like you're pissed that Buccee's won't build in LA.
So where did the beaver touch you?
So where did the beaver touch you?

Great question to pose to your governor.

And your mindset is typical of average LA voter and why LA ranks where it does it most quality of life measures.
This, in spite of incredible natural resources and home the largest navigable waterway in North America. It’s difficult for LA to fail but it has, and miserably.
not sure you understand what is going on here.

Available real estate and zoning most likely the biggest culprits. Bucee's doesn't have a small footprint. And they need highly visible locations right along busy freeways.
Last time Bucee's tried to come to Louisiana, they asked for a tax credit. Obviously the state and parish both told them no and they moved on. The property they tried to buy ended up flooding in 2017. It's a Honda dealership now.

Would the French Quarter run better if a company like Caesar's took it over and ran it ?
I would spend like a simp to an onlyfans for a campaign to make this actually happen.
Edwin Edwards's original vision of Louisiana casino gambling, was to turn what is now the Louisiana Supreme Court building into a "high end" Monte Carlo style casino.
As terrible as that idea sounds on its face (and was sort of categorically rejected at the time), I often ponder what that would have looked like and looking at the utterly depressing general state of the French Quarter today, whether it might have actually been an improvement over what we got instead.

It seems if you put one in Lafayette, you stick that sumbitch right at the I-10/I-49 interchange.
You could also do Slidell with the 1-10-/1-12/1-55 interchange....It makes more sense than a Casino

Because no one can do business here unless there are politicians getting paid in some way.. Whether its telling a company they can do business here, but they have to hire certain contractors, usually owned by someone's brother in law, who will overcharge and then turn around and give that elected official some bags for getting them the job..
Or if they use their own contractors, that contractor will be expected to make a few nice sized contributions to a few campaigns. Pretty much just business as usual..
But according to this board, all that needs to be done to fix everything is elect politicians of a certain party. Evidently that takes care of all problems.
