... against all the people he built houses for in New Orleans post-Katrina.

Justice Will Prevail

"Judge: Brad Pitt, others can be sued over New Orleans homes"

"Two homeowners filed the suit. Their attorney, Ron Austin, says the homes built by the foundation in the Lower Ninth Ward have infrastructural issues and residents have reported being sick."

"More than 100 green Make It Right houses were built in 2008. The foundation sued the principal architect last year saying his designs were defective."

I don't understand who these Hollywood types think they are. Who does he think he is? What kind of degenerate goes about building "substandard" housing for the less fortunate? I'll bet the houses didn't even have an outdoor kitchen or pool.

That’s stupid. He was trying to do right and give back. Sue the architects.

I’m not sure what all the issues are, but I remember one being a rotting porch

That’s what porches do

I'm willing to guess the people that want to sue him are also still living in these houses?

Sounds like they should be going after the contractors and firm whom designed these homes.

Maybe instead of these people getting a new place to stay which was 1000 times better than what they had to begin with, they should go frick themselves and just live in a fricking tent or underneath a bridge. They got free help helping them give their lives put back together only to complain and want more free handouts.

See? This is why I refuse to help people in any capacity. Too much legal liability.

Agreed. Brad Pitt is being sued for being naive enough to think a new "green" building could be built and not have issues.

His intentions were pure.

Rich people need to continue charitable giving for their tax breaks but they need to be more careful with who or what they donate to. Obviously some can come back and bite you in the butt.

I thought part of the issue was that the residents didn't do any preventative maintenance or upkeep on the houses.

Of course the porches will deteriorate/rot if they don't get repainted/sealed in that climate. Same thing for mold getting established is plumbing leaks aren't fixed, etc.

This.

He's not a builder or architect. He just paid them to do something good for the community and they fricked up.

Nope, Louisiana isn’t a business/personal wealth hostile legal state. Keep believing the trial lawyers and judges (who used to be trial lawyers)

Hollywood liberal tries to help New Orleans residents and they end up suing him.

In other news, water is wet.

How do you sue over something you were given for free and chose to live in? How about move the frick out or get a job in the 11 ensuing years to pay for something yourself?
