I was in a car accident a few years ago on Siegan lane and called EBRSO to report it and I was told that EBRSO does not cover Siegan lane, LA. State police jurisdiction.

Called LA. state police to report the accident and they sent someone out.

If you want to see some street racing check out Jefferson Hwy between Corporate Blvd and Drusilla.

BR has become a shining example of modern policing.

Seriously, what can a police officer do?

(1) Arrest the PERSON who started the fire, but cop has to see it and catch him
(2) ticket or arrest (if law allows) donut drivers, but what’s that law, reckless driving?
(3) ticket or arrest (if law allows) anyone blocking the street
(4) tell them to leave a private parking lot because to trespass someone, the parking lot rep has to tell you to leave, not the cop. Then you leave. If you don’t, THEN it’s criminal.

Seriously, what can a cop do? What LAWS are they breaking that constitute ARREST and not tickets?

Intelligence gathering and infiltration ? WTF are you talking about? This isn’t an Al Queada cell. 7 years ago local LEO had enough personnel to fully staff shifts. They allowed those on shift to proactively patrol. They allowed those on staff to intervene when things got out of hand. They are disciplined now for doing so or specifically instructed to not do so. As a result , every shift is staffed at 50% or less of the 2015 level. You can shill for Broome and JBE all you want but the actual facts are that LEO is woefully understaffed at every level today and those that actually work are not allowed to do so proactively. They are allowed to run radar in Kenilworth and Riverbend to collect money for city court from soccer moms. God forbid you allow them to conduct Terry stops in high crime areas to target the drug and illegal gun activity or target the BS that goes on every weekend on the interstate. It’s pretty simple if you have the balls to let your LEO proactively work within the laws on the books.

My favorite part of all this is this behavior just warrants tickets

This coming from the same trash city that tried to get me to pay a $160 red-light ticket for not stopping before a right turn.

It's the wild west out here

Reminds me of what Andrew Tate said, being governed, taxed, and watched over like a hawk as a populace is only worth it if you're safe. We're being taxed and ticketed for nonsense and can't even drive down Siegen Lane because of a group of lawless parasites. Screw this city

Simple fix don't even have to attend the street racer(circus) event.
Sheriff's detective's need to check the tire shops on Monday morning to see who is buying new tires.
Impound and have Riverside tow the car.
Arrest owner.

Patrol Officers assigned to shifts are often overstretched and understaffed in most mid size cities on Saturday nights during peak hours, 10pm-3am, when this occurred. They often don’t have the time or additional resources to effect arrest and seizures of crowds in excess of 20-40 vehicles and spectators.

Be reasonable.

Be reasonable? How many people minding their own business getting killed in traffic wrecks is acceptable to you? Burbank and Lee? It's a matter of when (not if) some LSU students going to get killed by one of these criminals? But the police have better things to do at peak time b/t 2200-0300? What do they have going on that is more important than proving to the community that it is governed by a system of laws? You say "intelligence gathering, infiltration of networks"...it ain't that sophisticated. This is nothing more than meetups arranged on social media. As I said, get a car, mount some cameras, and join the crowd.

Grants drive a lot of police departments. Those DWI checkpoints in a lot of areas are often federal grants. Gretna had a grant for a criminal task force. Grants get the fancy command post RVs that St. Charles, Lafourche, and others have. Grants paid for most of the high water vehicles (i.e. deuce and a halfs) that some of the NOLA area departments got. That's why a lot of departments hire grant writers - to get money to do enhanced enforcement and get equipment. It IS worth the hassle. Otherwise, you can get what BR has got.

Street racers have gone unchecked for some time now on the streets of BR. It’s only luck that more people haven’t been killed

About 20 years ago racing was a major problem on Florida Blvd near Flannery. Police didn't do anything until after a motorcyclist got killed by a car going 150. Sadly, someone will have to get killed before the police shut down racing on Seigen Ln now.

As much as I would like to give you and an honest answer, the sheer vast amount of answers wouldn’t do this question justice with a simple statement. To put it mildly, things get wild quickly on Saturdays nights in the inner city.

It was at this moment that I realized just how far out of touch you are with law enforcement solutions and I decided to no longer spend time bantering with you.

Good luck.
