You seem to think this is being arranged by some hierarchical organization that can be infiltrated and broken up a la organized crime w/ RICO. Bad news it just isn't. Read this slowly, get a task force, get some unmarked cars, mount some cameras, watch the videos, run the plates, spot some faces/possibly names/tattoos cross reference that against the FIC database and go round some folks up. That's what I said in my first post.

There could be some groups, but mostly it is more akin to a flash mob. One idiot posts on FB or where ever, and the word spreads around. Genius, tell us how to infiltrate that, other than having a couple of cyber officers and doing the aforementioned task force thing already suggested. There is no one leader or string puller, that is why what you say wont work. But your boyfriend was a cop right?

This is outside the City limits of Baton Rouge. Jurisdiction and responsibility for stopping this act falls dually on the East Baton Rouge Sheriffs Department and Louisiana Highway Patrol.

Why did BRPD respond? I can’t help but wonder if the ridiculous jurisdictional boundaries around the Siegen/Bluebonnet area are part of the problem.

Seems to me like these areas are something of a law enforcement no man’s land, which could be part of the reason the perpetrators choose the locations to begin with.

Not excusing EBRSO by any means, just pointing out that it’s odd that BRPD would respond in the first place if they don’t have jurisdiction.

If by “right off of Burbank” you mean 3 miles away, sure.

I think you might be giving these idiots a bit too much credit.

because they are assigned permanent desk duty and raises so they dont quit. the rookies watch a 20 minute video on how to assign case workers to solve crimes and thats all the "on duty" training they get

Should require a full firing squad to take them out
The safety factor for others on the road demands a better response

Old days before you could get promoted in the dept I worked for it took five years.

Even at the five year mark I would consider someone barely seasoned.

As far as law enforcement this BR wanting to annex all these areas they cannot serve is a huge issue.

They do not have the man power to cover the shift more less crack down on this.

What needs to happen is to do away with all the local police depts in EBRP.
Just have a metro sheriff elected by the people.
This will have less duplication of office staff and more officers on the street.

This way you do not have mayor saying don’t arrest people for this or that.

It would be up to the sheriff.
