I've lived 10000+ miles away. I've vacationed in 42 states now.

I will never live outside of Louisiana again.

The humidity and dark earth of the atchafalaya basin are in my blood.

Once a year I make it a point to go somewhere with a real winter... to remind me that the snow gets fricking old really quickly

It's true.

I thought BR was awesome.
I thought Lafayette was better than BR.
I thought Houston was better than both.
I thought Austin was better than all of them.
I thought Denver was cool but worse than Austin.
I now live 50 miles outside of Austin and it's better than all of the above.

And I go back to Louisiana whenever I want.

Welcome to the club of those that left. Everyone says the same thing when they leave LA of whats quoted above. When you return to visit friends and family that's when you really see how bad it is down there.
