It's true.
I thought BR was awesome.
I thought Lafayette was better than BR.
I thought Houston was better than both.
I thought Austin was better than all of them.
I thought Denver was cool but worse than Austin.
I now live 50 miles outside of Austin and it's better than all of the above.
And I go back to Louisiana whenever I want.

Welcome to the club of those that left. Everyone says the same thing when they leave LA of whats quoted above. When you return to visit friends and family that's when you really see how bad it is down there.

2) Colorado is a very purple state. Colorado Springs is very conservative with the Air Force base and Olympic training center. Boulder is extremely liberal and blue. Denver is a mix with a bunch of homeless. Fort Collins is just a bunch of baws who like the outdoors. Everyone in west Colorado doesn’t like the government in their business.
I like Colorado Springs. As one poster said, it lacks the soul that Louisiana has and is very strip mallish. The food scene is meh. Wildfires are a thing that can cause haziness and smoke. But it’s very beautiful and probably a great place to live.

We’ve lived in the Denver suburbs for several years now, it’s an amazing place honestly. The people are the friendliest and the best neighbors I’ve lived around. Visiting the mountains whenever I want is great, and the food scene is pretty great up here once you find your spots. People don’t talk about politics much.

I’m with you baw. Travelled all over and there’s nice places all around the country. But there’s also problems everywhere. This board obviously talks about LA’s more.
LA is home and I love it here. Certainly not for everyone and I understand that.

Check out monarch mountain and ski.only 120 miles from Colorado springs great place for kids to learn to ski and enjoy the slopeslopes.
We have the same sentiment about Louisiana. All our kids went to Lsu and shortly after graduation they all took jobs out of state. We left also

love Colorado we visit at least once a year sometimes more. We could move there but no way I could do the winters, and water is an increasingly severe problem there.
So we stay here and visit during the summer. It’s cheap to live here, ample fresh water and good dirt and the weather is tolerable. It’s funny but I realized the other day that my wife and I are now basically alone here…my parents, siblings, offspring and most of my cousins are all moved away

My boy was homebound (isolated) back in LA, receiving 30 minutes of online "education" with no prospect of reintegrating into school. His mom was getting calls weekly to come get him.
District 20 worked with him for less than a year (with other kids), didnt call my wife once for help, he's caught up academically, and he is now starting a mainstream school next year. Not to mention we're 9 minutes away from world-class care pediatric neurodevelopmental care at Childrens Hospital, and he'll be in a summer camp with DBT and riding horses and such. I'd say his trajectory has done a 180.
But does he like to recalibrate by being in isolation in nature? Absolutely. The outdoor life is a gift to any child. Glad he also has that out here, without mosquitos eating his arse up.

Thats fantastic, glad to hear that! Seems like a pretty decent LA presence here. We moved from Abita Springs.
We're in Briargate, north of Woodmen off Rangewood and a couple of blocks from Pioneer Park. We're in a very quiet neighborhood, its been great so far!

you should go visit Buena Vista it’s our favorite place in Colorado. Take the drive up to St Elmo while you’re there your kid will love it
