We all know it’s true.

I moved to DFW. Within 1 block I have access to an interconnected trail system that has more than 120 miles of walking, biking, hiking and equestrian trails and more than 23 square miles of parkland with 57 city parks and Corp of engineers park land all within the city limits. Within a half mile are public activity centers, public indoor and outdoor swimming, two stocked fishing lakes, multiple boat ramps and tons of picnic parks. A dozen ballparks and four soccer fields are within a mile. Lots of music and sports options for kids here. It's one of the safest places I know. Sits between two major lakes, and there are tons of public and private golf courses. Great access to world class medical care. I love my family and a few friends and acquaintances who are still in Louisiana, but I can't go back, either.

The problem with Colorado is it doesn’t have a Tensas Parish.

I’ve been everywhere in America. And everywhere between everywhere. Louisiana is my favorite place, it has a soul to it and awesome people.

About 13 minutes. It is nice. We drove up there before we moved here. Need to spend more time there.

Don't give up on Louisiana so quickly since there's little part of it not far from you in Colorado Springs. LSU's Geology Field Camp is just a little ways outside of Colorado Springs on CO-115.

My brother in law’s family has lived in Colorado Springs for 35 years. Gorgeous area but the weed smell in the air makes me feel like I’m stuck in north Baton Rouge traffic.

That’s great, you can have it all. I work there every couple weeks. When I’m there, I can’t wait to escape all the traffic, construction & people. Ft Worth is better but North Dallas/ Frisco isn’t my thing

Not surprising at all since you previously lived so close to New Orleans. No one that cares about their family’s quality of life would ever choose to live in that area.

We're currently renting. Approx 1800 sq. ft. 3 bed 2 bath. $2200. We're pretty much paying for the location though (Briargate).

Flower Mound has a rural, horse farm type feel. Not anything like Frisco. I shudder thinking about what Frisco used to be like and what it is now.
