re: Best States to live in the United States?

Personally, I think that if one can afford it, San Diego is basically paradise.

I wouldnt live in San Diego, it's just like any other big city, except for the awesome weather

Maryland has a lot of nice areas

but

you have Baltimore and PG County

All things considered -- economic, lifestyle, and cost of living.

1. Texas

3. North Carolina

Again, the majority of any state would be crappy to live in IMO. States with the largest chunks of land that I think would be a great place to live:

Washington
Alaska
Utah
Idaho
Oregon
California
Idaho
Montana
Colorado
Florida
Arizona
New Mexico

And really, there is not a lot of difference between these states when ranking, it comes down to the specific location much more.

That place is super isolated. I did a backpacking trip along the Lost Coast and the trailhead was in a town with like 5 houses and one general store.
