Not a dog breed. you can just say mutt. same with golden doodles.

All those mixed designer breeds are essentially mutts. there's no way around it. They are not recognized by the AKC, and i believe the UKC as well.

I would seriously look up common health problems with these designer breeds if you are considering one as a pet.

Get a bread you are familiar with. All breeds have quirks that can be a pain. It's just better to have one you are prepared for.

I have an adopted, not really a rescue I guess because the whole litter was at someone’s house. Not sure if you consider that a rescue. Got her from
Cajun Tails. She’s half blue heeler, half Aussie shepherd. I couldn’t imagine a better dog. She’s super smart, protective but knows how to chill when she knows we’re ok with strangers. I can leave her outside, unfenced property. We have almost 2 acres and she will not leave the property or go into the street. She’s playful and sweet and she listens almost perfectly unless she’s treed a squirrel and then it’s damn near impossible to get her back in She has free roam of the house at all times. Hasn’t had an accident since she was a young puppy and hasn’t chewed up very much (the occasional remote, reading glasses or the wife’s slipper) but that’s been less than 8 times in 2 years. For us, she’s the perfect dog.

I've owned both.. Pugs are 100% stupid and one of the most useless animals I've ever owned..

Currently have a Frenchie, much, much, much smarter but isn't as chill as you'd think for that type of dog..

Also, both breeds snore like drunken sailors so gotta be prepared for that.

I,m very biased, have only had English Springer Spaniels for over 50 years.... look around and you will find ESS Rescue organizations all across the country....

Even if not an ESS, rescue a dog and make it's life!

Rhodesian Ridgeback.
I’ve had many dogs but this breed is by far the best.

Some Pros:
Very loving and affectionate
Wicked smart and easy to train
Very obidient
Great personality
Great with every age (Just watch the tail around babies. Can clear a table).
Little shedding
Playful
Great with other dogs
Instinctivly places himself between you and unknown human/animal.
Very protective but not aggressive - unless someone makes an aggressive move toward you. Then he destroys them.

Some Cons:
Needs lots of exercise (only a con if you’re getting older like me).
Acts like he’s starving to death even though he just ate. Can eat themselves into oblivion.

Wish I knew how to add a photo. I would add my boy. Since I can’t here’s a link to some others. LINK

Ok...

Whatever you want to call doesn't matter to me. Ours isn't registered and we picked her up from a lady who had a litter not some breeder type.

I was just putting it out there how great she's been with kids.

A lot of registered breeds have their own health issues as well.

The thing about Yorkies is that you need to be careful with them. Our friend’s Yorkie died after jumping down from either someone’s lap, or the table where they were sitting. That’s too fragile of a dog to be around small children.

Tough shite for the purebreed. The rescue came from a litter and by definition has nowhere to go. Rescues are cheaper up front and in the long run. Also more loyal because they were “rescued” from a bad situation.

You probably give money to homeless beggars also.

Please visit your local or area dog pounds. There are so many that need their home.

We got 2 puppies both lab mixes, about 8 years ago from the Montgomery County dog pound, when we were on the verge of retirement. The reasoning is they would have a playmate. Plus we live in a subdivision with a dog park.

Two years after we got them I found a red heeler that was abandoned in our dog park so I adopted her. The 3 of the have formed into an almost inseperable pack. One of the best decisions I ever made.

We just put a deposit down on a yellow.

Very excited.

What has been your experience with yellows compared to black/brown?

Grandson's 3 month old Golden retriever just had 4 socks removed from stomach by vet.

Vet said he had seen this before with that breed.

Dog ok.

My experience is the opposite. I have two chocolates from different breeders (one is 7 the other 3) and they are the best labs I've ever had. Not stubborn at all and very good around kids.
