You can always get a gas station phone and put minutes on it as you need.

We're on cricket. 4 lines for $112/mo. It's prepaid on the AT&T network.
Verizon has the same type of deal (4/$100) but you have to sign up for a 3 year deal. Sometimes they will give you 4 new iphones for signing up...I've usually seen that around the holidays. https://www.verizon.com/plans/unlimited/

Watching the plummeting WiFi market become so cheap leads me to think we aren’t long for this happening in the cell game…. Im paying for a family plan of 4 unlimited data that I’m sure I could get for cheaper if I truly put in the effort.. fiber cut my home data/cable to 50 bucks. I did pick up YouTube tv..

Visible
I used it for 2.5 months hiking and camping across the western US, they use Verizon towers.
I pay $35 a month unlimited, 50 gig prime hotspot, throttled after the 50 gigs.

Cricket.
I don't need much so I can get by on a discount plan. $35/mo, unlimited talk and text, 5G data that gets throttled but doesn't cost extra if I exceed the limit.

I had Spectrum cable, landline and internet and they had been sending me stuff for years wanting my cell phone business. I always refused. Meanwhile my cable bill kept going up. Finally at $300 I said "no mas" and cut everything but the internet. Down to $80 bucks.
They came at me again asking why I cut back to the bone and I told them. They then offered the cell phones again and I honestly don't know how or why, but it was supposed to be $120 for the home internet and two lines. Instead my bills have been $45 for all of it.
I'm not wanting to even breathe in their direction right now.

That sounds about right for Spectrum.

Yeah I was fed up with AT&T being shady and unhelpful, not to mention pricey.
Had no idea about Xfinity mobile until I went into their store as I was about to cancel the home internet since the promotion for that had expired and my monthly bill had doubled. The people there were very helpful and ended up locking me into a 5 year internet plan cancel any time for the same price I had been paying under the initial promotion. Then they offered the one year free mobile promotion and I made the switch. It’s been great so far. No complaints. Think they utilize Verizon’s network towers so coverage is just as good if not better than AT&T. The process was very easy and fast. Just need a few bits of info from AT&T to get it switched over.
The Xfinity employee that helped me also recommended not to contact their customer service department since it’s mostly automated or outsourced and very frustrating to deal with. Said just come by the store if there’s ever any issues. It is only a one year promotion, but I was told they’ll probably have another promotion by the end of this one so I’ll see how it goes.
That's a good idea. Sadly I just looked and in my area of Florida, the closet Xfinity Store is 40 miles away. I noticed it seems the stores are in the areas with older populations. I'm guessing even Comcast realizes those populations can't deal with the automated customer service BS. I'm near Orlando and the closet Xfinity Store is in Leesburg and after that it's The Villages.
Yeah when you call customer service, you can clearly tell it's outsourced to India. The associates can't hide their accents and you can tell they are in a packed call center as you hear all the people behind them. They also shut down and put you on hold for 15 minutes if you ask them a question they aren't prepared for. They clearly are given a script. Frustrating to deal with is an understatement.
Probably going to go with Mint for 3 months and then see what happens with Xfinity and my internet renewal. If Xfinity matches or beats what the other internet provider in my area can offer, I'll probably stay and then make the trip out to that store to see if I can get that same promotion.
