It is unusual (for these type incidents) for the shooting to have started outside at a specific vehicle. I'm wondering if the shooter targeted the people in the car and then went inside looking for another kid. Shooter died in the school.

Crimes like this make me fleetingly wish for a more Soviet style system of justice.
If this was a teen, send his parents, friends, teachers, etc off to the gulag with their families. Somewhere like the north slope of AK, or central Utah, or Alexandria would suffice.
