I care, because when they pass laws like this it has an affect on the entire country.

And then they get frustrated with their own state and move to other states and vote for the same stupidity.

Problem is it’s bad for the pig farmers in the Midwest too. That’s a sizable chunk of their customers they could lose.

About 10% to 15% of the pig farms will comply and sell only to California and at very high prices.

So pig farms in other states have to decide if they want to incur more expenses to keep Cali residents as a customer or stay as they are now and just supply the other 49 states.

The fricked-up part, is that the rest of the 49 will have to incur the costs of the farmers that want to keep producing for CA.

That’s the beauty of capitalism, some farmers would love to gobble up that 15% of market share while some farmers can decide they would rather not participate in the market.

I think it’s a bullshite proposition but 8,000,000 people did vote for it to be enacted

some of our largest pork producers are now owned by China. They can blow off Cali, and just ship even more of it to that hongry billion over there. Plus, China has bought , and paid for, our Pres., so they will get a variance, if they want, by executive decree.

Hopefully the farmers don’t give in - force Cali to either change the laws or lose the pig.

What about wild hogs? I rather wild hog anyway.

How much more space does fricking chickens need to lay eggs?

And I didn't read the whole thing, but based off you saying farms in other states have to decide if they want to keep cali customers.. So they are not even allowed to buy from out of state unless that state meets their requirements?

What are they going to do if farms from out of state doesn't? Go check?

You know the definition of "humane", and how it's used in respect of the treatment of animals, right?

I get it that this thread is just for shitting on cali for having no bacon, but is everyone really that pro factory farming? The animals live miserable horrible lives and the product isn't as healthy.

I don't know what the solution is but it seems pretty dumb to shite on cali for trying to do something no matter how in vain their efforts may be

Spiritually empty and lack of any semblance of nobility. And you revel in it. Pretty pathetic.

The shitty gas can trend began in California. Regulations began in 2000, with the idea of preventing spillage. The notion spread and was picked up by the EPA.

Pre-covid, yes. Post-covid, idk. These major packers have been making bank (especially beef and chicken) and it’s at the expense of farmers/ranchers and consumers.
