Ok. Would you say that Austin's future trajectory was headed in a positive direction giving his lengthy record?
I believe he should have been allowed to finish his junior year in HS and then his senior year in HS a few months ago to see what he could become as a young adult.
By record are you also including accusations and what he “reportedly” said?
One incident listed with an arrest was in elementary school with zero mention of any punishment unlike the graffiti arrest, but no arrest or punishment listed with an alleged kick and punch to the stomach of a girl in HS. Something is off with arresting an elementary student with no further actions noted as well as not arresting a teenager for what was described.
These 2 and the cursing at a teacher were my biggest concerns, but the first 2 require more info than a reporters take on what was said by attorney. Also concerned about the overheard comment to a friend about bringing gun to school, but any comment like that whether joking or not has to be taken seriously by the school which requires more info as well on exactly what happened.
You know what doesn’t take more info. Karmelo admitting to murder as a 1st degree felony by admitting to stabbing Austin in the heart with no valid claim of self defense.
I am glad you were not around me in HS as you might have taken my slide as justification for me being murdered before finishing HS. I would have never started going to a bible study towards end of my senior year or gone to that church retreat the summer after graduation.

More was mentioned today
quote:
More text messages shared in court include a shirtless selfie of Anthony holding a gun in 2024, other text messages from 2024 when he threatened to kill his girlfriend, more texts about drug use, robbing people, and a video of him pointing a gun at a house.
…Racist messages, threats of gun and stabbing violence found on Karmelo Anthony's phone
Prosecutors showed evidence uncovered during the discovery process on Karmelo Anthony's cellphone.
It included a racist rant categorizing Black people, white people and Mexicans. These statements were made in his Apple notes in May 2023.
There were also texts from 2021 where Anthony spoke about hitting a girl and punching her in the face. Other texts from 2021 suggested he had an "obsession with fighting," according to prosecutor Dewey Mitchell.
Anthony allegedly threatened a 12-year-old boy in 2021 by saying he was "gonna go get a gun," and was suspended for three days.
Again, none of those details were introduced during the trial because of the "gentleman's agreement."
quote:
That evidence also included Karmelo Anthony's school records from when he lived in Baton Rouge. It includes his discipline history which began in 2013 when he was 6 or 7 years old.
The records mention an incident where Anthony punched another student after repeatedly being asked to keep hands to himself, and several incidents of "willful disobedience," or disturbing the school and habitually violating rules.
Anthony ended up on a behavioral plan at the age of 10 at the LSU Psych Department.
The disciplinary records mention that in 2021, he was "getting into it with teachers."
The state agreed not to go into Anthony's school disciplinary history as part of the so-called "gentleman's agreement."

I saw this described as "offsetting penalties, replay first down"

I like how yall call it like he painted a dickbutt on a wall or something
Given the "graffiti", is there any reason to doubt the accusatoins?

When it happened I'd heard Metcalf was a shitty kid. So I wanted to wait and see what his behavior was in the incident before just believing the news reports. One everything came out, it was completely obvious that Metcalf was needlessly murdered in cold blood. Karmelo should be publicly hung, but of course now political games are being played by the democrats to help Talarico out with the black vote due to his abysmal polling with that group, because the blacks dont mess with gays

we're talking about Austin. Anthony was the murderer. They are both put away and the world is likely a better place for it.

How is any of that relevant to the trial?
Yeah, this stuff is bad but has no bearing on the murder.

What accusations?
Accusations that HS boys call each other crap and try to outshock each other including doing stupid crap to stir the pot?
No eyewitness made any claims of anything racial being brought up that day at the track meet.
The defense can’t actually prove any real racism by the victim or within their character claims. They just know people like you cannot think beyond the N word and will view any non-black who has used any version of it within any context including with other black friends is the next Hitler and deserves death.

Appears so to every rational person. If you've raging about this case for the last 3 months then you're probably going to have to circle the wagons for a while to save face.
IMO, most of us on the O-T who thought KA was guilty of murder, could hardly care less if AM raised the toilet seat when he whizzed or kept his library books overdue or texted bad things about blacks and on.
What mattered, is that on that day, under that tent, AM was where he was supposed to be, doing what he was assigned by his coach to do, in the manner he was supposed to when he was murdered.
Moreover, the fact that AM refused to fight KA at a track meet, after being provoked repeatedly, says he'd made some progress in controlling his emotions.
Is this raging?

Is killing a dumbass who may have said something racist the appropriate response? No, all right the little shite is still guilty and deserves a longer sentence.

Soooo essentially two hot heads that were perhaps predisposed to dislike each other came together while one was having a particularly bad day and carrying a knife as an exceptional outlier to escalation
While I suspect most folks walk away from the interaction - I’m not saying any of that to specifically lay blame on metcalf.
Just kind of my gut using broad strokes of what we know and experience around some volatile situations. Usually it takes two anomalies for things to escalate into national news like this.

What did AM do under the tent to indicate he was predisposed to dislike KA?
Ans: nothing

This doesn't pass the sniff test. If all that was true, especially the stuff involving black students, it would have been all over the news and social media.

This is national news because Anthony is black and Austin was white with Anthony’s parents allowing a known race hustler to come in as part of their team, play the race card, portray a murderer as a victim of racism, portray the victim of deserving to be murdered, and then to have claims not only go mostly unchallenged by mainstream media but get pushed by them just as much as the race baiters want it pushed.
