Guy in the sales stall next to me wanted to buy a new pilot. Sales guy told him he was so upside down on his trade it was going to be $1200 a month for 84 months. He said it was the best he could do. Dumb arse guy said let’s do it. Jesus Christ my house note isn’t but 1600 a month. People are stoopid when it comes to buying cars sometimes.

One might say he was determined to get into a new Honda Pilot.

I didn't realize you could even trade in a car that you're upside down on

A trade in should have no bearing on the negotiated price.

Fools and their money.

It’s amazing how the American buy confuses their “wants” with “needs”. Buy sets constantly say I “need”, and it triggers their justification to make a bad decision.

I will never pay $1200 a month for a vehicle.

Generally they just role the current loan into the new one. Effectively you’re paying the dealership to take the car from you.

Maybe he plans to die soon.

Or maybe he knows the government is going to take everything away from us soon anyway.

It will all be worth it when his wife gets to drive through the car pool lane next week in a brand new Honda Pilot. All the other moms are going to be jealous.

Love both my Accord Touring and my very reasonable car note. Sorry about the small penis, bro

84x1200=100,800.

The most expensive new pilot I could see near me was $46k. Think about that for a second...

Plenty of dumbasses to take that loan... who in the hell would write that loan. No way the vehicle secures the mortgage balance alone.

Even the top of the line Pilot trim is around $50k. A 72 month loan for $50k at 7% interest rate is around $850 a month. I doubt that guy is somehow $20k upside down on his trade in…because that seems awfully hard to do unless its been wrecked and not repaired, plus highly unlikely a bank would approve a loan that high above the new vehicle value.

Baw is probably only upside down by a small amount but his credit score sucks, so he’s getting a 15% interest rate

Yeah. That guy isn’t going to pay off that note. Just like the car he was trading in.
