$100,800 for a 40-50K vehicle depending on options. That is retarded.

100%. Features change a lot in 10 years and the overall size of a Yukon XL vs a Corolla would be worth it if you had a couple of kids to bring along.

As much as I hate the costs of cars, the feature set difference of 2010 v 2023 is insane.

Back up cameras, CarPlay, lane assist, self park, adaptive cruse control, auto start, heated seats and steering wheels, dual climate, etc.

The difference between my first car (1989 Mazda B220) was a lot less to my second truck (2002 Ford ranger) than my adult 2009 f150 was to my 2015 dodge Ram.

Generally they just role the current loan into the new one. Effectively you’re paying the dealership to take the car from you.

You’re also basically paying for a car you aren’t using

Jesus most I’ve ever paid was $607 a month for 60 months on a brand new loaded Durango

I don’t finance for more than 60 months and I’m sure as hell not paying $1200 a month

The new 2.0 Accord is very nice, but why is Honda so hellbent on making only boring fricking road vehicles?

ALL of those Bells & Whistles are Planned Obsolescence.

they are guaranteed to break or frick up enough to make sure that you get back to the dealership in order to generate more revenue for them.

Ha I’m such a cheap mf I don’t think I could ever talk myself into paying more than 400 a month unless it’s a boat. I’m willing to go upside down for that hole in the water.

I don't give a shite about any of that. My first vehicle was a 1981. I'd be fine with the features it had today although Bluetooth is fairly nice.

My guess is a crazy high rate.., or this is not the first time he’s been upside down and he keeps rolling it.

Jesus Christ my house note isn’t but 1600 a month. People are stoopid when it comes to buying cars sometimes.

My house note is more than $1600 and I ain't paying $1200 a month for TWO cars. I can almost walk to work. The 2 or 3 days I would need a second car during a month, I could rent if I had to.

The car industry has moved past me, so I'll move past them.

The Civic Type R and its sibling, the Acura Integra Type S are far from boring. They are cars you can take to a road track and destroy some much more expensive competition.

Not saying I agree with depriving yourself of things that bring a lot of value.

But if talk to the dealer service departments…they all complain about Apple CarPlay integration headaches. Glitches there are a very common issue/complaint from new car buyers across all brands.

That’s an issue that you wouldn’t have in a 2005 or even a 2010 car. Toyota didn’t even do it for most of their cars until 2018-2021.

There are probably more people than we think that pay sticker price or very close to it.

My word, that’s insanity. He will never get from underneath that, and that’s long long long after the newness has worn off and he’s still stuck driving around his own personal ball and chain.

Quite honestly, I usually buy new, but I just paid off my truck, and after I’ve worn it out, I’m buying used next go round. I see no point in the game. Paying for all that depreciation just isn’t worth it. I don’t give a flip what people think anymore about me driving the latest and greatest, not in the least.
