But it is west of the Mississippi. Any idiot can plainly see the difference between Galveston and Destin.

So what? The Gulf Cost is a descriptor of the area adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico, not the Mississippi River

Gulf side of Florida is easily the best beaches in the lower 48

I was just at pebble beach and Spanish bay in Pacific Grove this weekend. I’d rather Clearwater Florida type beach, me.

Even the Jersey Shore, while pretty trashy, doesn't quite reach the depths of a Pensacola or Destin.

You mentioned California and Brazil. I have lived in both places and both have great beaches and trashy beaches.

The sand is better on the Bama/Florida Gulf coast than every beach in Cali and Brazil. Hawaii is another example of scenic beaches with crappy sand.

Cali is more scenic, but swimming is better on the Gulf Coast. Brazil has a ton of stuff to do on their beaches, and you can drink and buy drinks on the beach, so that's a plus.

To be honest, If I want to spend a nice beach vacation though, I like Fort Morgan, AL over most of the places Ive been.

The beach "per se" at Pensacola is trashy, however, the free trolley is perfect for day drinking and generally moving around and over eating.

You're probably a 200lb over weight slob that hates beaches anyway.

I’m not 200# nor am I overweight, give me a wooded (preferably mountainous) landscape any day of the week over the beach.

I think reasonable individuals can all agree that Benidorm is the trashiest beach.

Eh, once you’ve seen some of the beautiful beaches of the South Pacific in person the Gulf doesn’t really get you hyped anymore.
