Are Gulf Coast beaches the trashiest in the world?

Spin off thread but in thinking about it they might be.
From California to France to Italy to Brazil and all all points in between, I can't think of any trashier. Even the Jersey Shore, while pretty trashy, doesn't quite reach the depths of a Pensacola or Destin.
