ied, and I’ve still never seen one of his shows.

The earlier shows were better. By the last few seasons, he had pumped his act up to like a 15/10 level. It was too much.

I’d honestly rather travel with Gordon Ramsey

A dickhead, but a relatable dickhead. It's hard because I deal with depression on a daily basis, and for my own purposes, I have to think less of people that finally give in.

Just had a look at her wiki. What a POS. He may have been a time bomb anyway, but no way in hell that woman did anything but speed up the process.

His Louisiana Cajun show was awesome. It was respectfully done and showed our state and culture in a positive light. However, I wish he'd never done the Cajun Mardi Gras episode. He was obviously not into it, perhaps because of his depression or maybe because of the drunken morons putting on a show for him.

Unfortunately creative types like Bourdain are afflicted with demons that follow them. They can be incredibly self destructive as well. If you ever read Kitchen Confidential he touches on it.....a lot.

He was an a-hole for years before he straightened out.....he admits that. It led to a lot of problems both professionally and personally. Unfortunately just because you get everything straight they don't go away and sometimes rear their ugly heads when things go good.

Ramsey by contrast can be an extreme dickhead in his business dealings and harsh in terms of training. But, I know a producer that had worked with him when he first started Hell's Kitchen who said outside of work......and even with work off the camera, he would follow up with people and encourage them and even if he had to let people go, if he thought you had potential would help you out.

He's not a prick

Can't remember if I saw this on an episode or heard it somewhere, but Bourdain said he was eating somewhere in NYC and a guy on the street said, "Hey Ant-knee, how come you never did a show about Philly?" Bourdain said he was about to speak and the guy cut him off and says, "you know what, frick you don't come to philly!" To which Bourdain says, "oh, I gotta go to philly."

No, sorry I’m not a liberal cuck so I don’t care about celebrities, I just worship 19 year olds playing college sports.

He was definitely in a depression towards the end of his life and it showed on that episode. However, he loved Louisiana and New Orleans. On a prior cajun country episode, he singled out a crawfish bisque he had at a boucherie as the single greatest dish he had since he dined at El Bulli.

Everyone is calling him a cuck/beta (I don’t think he is, takes balls to travel where he went), and they are entitled to their opinion. However, he truthfully seemed like the guy who could sit and eat a meal with anyone and you’d remember it.

He left a huge hole in the culinary world. I follow a guy on TikTok that's similar, but with sandwiches.

What you don't realize is that is how a Philly guy invites you to Philly. It's a formal invitation

Anthony Bourdain Bans White People from His Houston Show: Mission Accomplished

Yes, this cannot be said enough. The documentary on him identified a lot of flaws. Also, how he fired longtime loyal staff bc the crazy woman wanted to run the show... never forget how awful he was to family and loyal staff...

obviously there were interesting conversations he had and shined a lot of light on areas and culture beyond the food, but he doesn't seem like he was an overly good person.

i don't want to speak ill of the dead or anything, obviously his show had great impact.

The episode where he visited Waffle House for the first time, drunk off his arse, was TV gold. YouTube

I can see that. Being a prick or acting obnoxiously is great for tv. Stephen A smith is the same way with ESPN. All an act of ratings.
