Yep, lucky enough to live in God's country where we can take back roads or I wouldn't. Its that sweet solace on the drive home before you have to switch from work duty to dad and husband duty.

When I was a kid my dad would drive around drinking an Old Milwaukee's tall boy most of the time. He had a Monte Carlo that had a can ring stain on the seat.

I remember my dad doing this and all his friends
My dad would stop at a gas station in the area to knock down a few with friends in the parking lot. No this is not a unique thing, but I am highlighting it because it is fricking trashy and awesome at the same time.

My farm is only 4 miles from the house so no.
I do grab a 12 pack fairly often and when it gets dark I’ll ride gravel roads and drink it while listening to old country music and smoke a few Marlboros

I used to but realized I can wait just a little longer.

OMG, why are you trying to literally murder children?
How does it feel to be an alcoholic?
Oh it's trashy at best and an easy excuse to get in a lot of trouble if you get in an accident. Dumb hicks have to drink a beer on the way home from work. And to that point one beer doesn't accomplish anything. Except now you gotta pee if you get stuck in traffic.

I have an alcoholic friend who used to do that. So trashy.

Production oilfield hands, and field superintendents all kept a small cooler with beer with them at all times back in the day. Heck, you would sweat it out in a short period of time.

I mean, aside from Quenching a parched throat, slaking your thirst, feeling like you are getting a little reward for a hard days work, and a general feeling of contentment.
All things that you can do when you get home. Get pulled over and it just escalates things. Get in an accident and someone gets hurt you are going to be viewed as being drunk and causing someone to get hurt rather the alcohol made a difference or not.

Sure did back in 83, after baseball practices.

So whether or not something actually contributed to the accident is irrelevant, only the things they made laws against to gain revenue?
I’d rather see a baw with a tall boy driving home that someone texting on their phone.
Just because there is a law against it doesn’t make it bad, and the lack of law against something doesn’t make it good.
It’s about being responsible. If 1 Bloody Mary or beer a difference makes, what’s the distinction between drinking it at an establishment or on the road?
What if I spike my hot cocoa with some peppermint schnapps?
Eat a rum ball?

I used to drink those slim can beers while driving because they looked like energy drinks.

my drive is BR to hammond. i hit the truck stop at the livingston exit for my road beer which is just enough time to kill it but not far enough to tempt me into opening can #2

Was driving to a bachelor party in Dallas and my buddy reached in tge back and tossed me a beer as I was driving. At first I looked at him like he was frickin crazy....then realized...frick it's one beer.....was enjoyable

Only on Fridays.
After a long hard week of work, a grown arse man or lebesian woman should be able to pop the top on a cold beer on their drive home.
