My middle name is Adolf so I try to hide my middle name as best as I can

I had a friend that everyone called Billy and at some point in hs we wanted to start going by Will. He would correct everyone all the time, but as his friends, we were always like shut up Billy. Weve called you Billy for years, we aren't changing now.

My grandpas actual legal name was first name J and middle name W. When he enlisted, the Army gave him a “name” that he used the rest of his life. Or that’s the story I was told

Unfortunately my parents used my middle name. It sucks. My sons share my middle name but go by their first names.
Growing up my friends called me by my middle name but at school I never told the teachers when roll was called.

My son has been called by his middle name since birth. We moved to a new neighborhood and he introduced himself to the neighborhood kids by his first name. Now the whole neighborhood calls him by his first name. It has us all fricked up.

My family called my father by his middle name because his father had the same name. But all of his work buddies and drinkin' buddies called him by his first name.

Two people in my wife's grad school class had a similar thing happen. In school they went by their formal names, and then when the class met people from their personal lives they told them that they actually went by their middle names. Kinda weird to me that they never said, "I know my name is listed as x, but I prefer to be called y" to their classmates.
If I ever have to disappear, I'll probably go by my middle name.

I have a cousin named Jonathan, his middle name is Lawrence. Everyone called him Jon but he didn't like the name "Jon". He wanted people to call him "Larry"

My cousin and his dad have the same name, so everyone in the family called him Junior, even his siblings. When I was about 14, he wanted to go by his real name(Mark) but we were all like "hell no dude, I've been calling you Junior since I could talk."

Only use my first name when at the doc or dentist because it’s what my insurance card says my name is
