The cocaine is plentiful in the strip clubs there.

I worked s turnaround there for 45 days. Windy, dusty, and tobacco chewing cowboys. All the hard insulation in the plant was dented from hail. I collected my pay and blew that hell hole. Never been back.

the restaurants are all busy, and the hotels are all full.
There are more 18 wheelers on the road than cars,
It is a boom town. Take a girl with you, slim pickings.
Had a married friend that moved there loved it, said it was an all American city.
Dry, ugly, windy, sandy.
People seem very nice.

You know it. Nobody hates on and bashes Louisiana more than somebody born and raised in Louisiana! The self-hate is amazing, especially compared to the pride that Texans have for their own state. It's almost as if the normal people all live in Texas and the psychologically damaged losers separate themselves by living in Louisiana.
Louisiana has no self-pride at all and seems like all Louisianans are ashamed of themselves and their state.
They should all convert to being Baptist, change their French surname to something of Anglo-Irish-Scot heritage, move to Texas and have a shot at getting a girlfriend that's not an oily whale.
Found the guy from midland.

People from Louisiana make a big show about how much they hate it, but most all secretly love it and have more pride to be from Louisiana than any other state I know of.

I’ve been in Midland for 2 years now. Most of the comments about not much to do, dry, dusty, and windy are all legit.
Strangely though, I haven’t hated it. There’s a lot of good people (and a lot of trashy ones too, but they keep that more in Odessa). If you’re going to be there long term, you need to get involved with the community. I’ve been in a lot of meetings over the last year where there are big plans on infrastructure (roads, education, entertainment) investments from a consortium of oil companies. It’s probably going to be better in 10-15 years.
If you’re going to be here short term, put in your time, make some good money, and move back to a place with trees and water.

I haven’t seen anything about the women out there. I don’t know about midland, because I’ve never been there but I’ve been to Lubbock and Odessa and a couple other towns in west Texas for music festivals and there has always been TRUCKLOADS of hot women.

Yeah they come for the festival and then go back home

It's awful. I honestly can't think of a worse place to live.
My son didn't like Midland until he moved to Pecos.

You are joking right?

How has CRUDE FEST not been brought up in this thread?

There’s room for it. Mostly it’s a debate about where to put it. There’s an old driving range on the northeast side of town just off the loop, but folks in Odessa want it on 191 or business 20 close to the airport. I have no idea if anyone has yet to reach out specifically to Top Golf.
On a separate note, it would be hard to hit anything in some of the wind conditions out here.

I heard crude fest ended. Likely because it was an oil trash shite show

I went in 2015. Knew none of the artists playing but the RV lot was almost as fun of a white trash party as the tarpon rodeo.
Odds are we've had a beer together somewhere in MLD
