a new study from BYU Finance professors is finding people are saving less to fuel gambling habits.
Truth is -120 according to DraftKings (the crown is yours!)

This is just Wall Street angry they have no longer monopolized retirement plans. Everyone knows that getting sick, 6-leg parlays on MACtion beats the S&P 500 every day of the week.

I put enough money into my account to get the balance to $20 at the beginning of each college football season and I use that to make roughly $5 of bets each week. Sometimes parlays, sometimes single bets.
I haven’t had to add money the past 3 years.

Don’t want to hear anyone complain they are poor in retirement.
But of course they will.

What the frick is even this if it’s not just gambling? I keep getting adds for Kalshi or Polymarket telling me I can future trade on weather, sports, world events, etc….
It’s just straight up fricking gambling called something else. Futures markets and futures trades sicken me way more than sports betting.

IBM built Watson at first to basically anticipate weather, especially after buying Wunderground, and they can't make money. (IBM at its best.)

You’re not a sports fan.
Brother, since having kids, could give a shite less about sports.
I'm not sitting and watching a game for 3 hours that has no impact on my life.
At least if there is a chance I could win money, it gives me a reason to tune in

So, gambling is more important than your kids?

So much more fun to put it in the slots. All those flashy blinky lights and fun noises. What’s not to love?
God, people are dumb. Myself included.

They don’t realize that sports betting only exists because about 99% of bettors lose over the long run. If people actually won in betting over the long run, then the books couldn’t exist.
And, to top it all off, there are rumors that the 1% of bettors who actually win will get banned from books.

Wild that you came to that conclusion from my statement

I've never gone to a restaurant to discuss bets.
