Like I said, this isn't even a political observation, it's just looking at society.
The hell it is not.
It is comparing the response of a country who cut the organs out of a living person to give to another to one that doesn't. It is comparing the response of an oppressive, totalitarian regime with a abhorrent human rights record to one found on freedom and the inherent worth and dignity of every person.
It reeks of false equivalency and politics.

activating FEMA to coordinate supply chains to get testing kits

Because we decided that a shutdown and mandates were necessary and they weren't. Convincing people that they should be scared and going to work is an unreasonable ask is what has fricked up everything.
not downplaying the threat

I'm at risk, so I've been mostly staying home. Today I did curbside pickup at Sam's. While there, I filled up with gas. I had wipes in my car, but didn't use them, like every other time I've filled up during the lock down. I just grabbed the handle, chose my grade, put in my zip, started pumping, and then realized I'd forgotten to grab the pump handle with a wipe.
I had hand wipes and sanitizer in the car, but didn't use either. after I put the groceries away I thought about it again and washed my hands.

Absolutely. Look at Europe’s response.
Also doesn’t help that we don’t have a real leader.

Went to Whole Foods on Saturday.
Was at the seafood counter and the lady before me ordered some fish. She was maybe in her late 30s/early 40s. Probably no more than 115lbs.
When the guy went to wrap her fish in the paper, she said "Oh wait--" and he looked up to see what she needed. She rudely said, "Ugh, nevermind". He asked what she wanted and said he'd happily cut it or something for her. She said, "No, its fine" and then muttered to herself "..just wrap it in the disgusting paper".
He heard her, so he went to grab a different piece of fish to wrap with fresh paper (not that the original one wasn't fresh) and she said "I have my own!". Bitch whips out a freezer Ziplock bag from her purse. She wanted him to drop the fish into her own bag for her instead of using the butcher paper.
I looked over at her, and realized she had sanitizing wipes wrapped all the way around the handle of her grocery cart. Like you'd see someone wrap a public toilet seat or something. And she had a N95 mask basically stapled to her head.

We have a great leader. We have no leadership in congress and a subversive media.

clear, concise messaging that doesn't contradict the prevailing words of the experts, not downplaying the threat, etc.

You have groups of people swearing this is all fake, and their evidence is that there's not piles of bodies on the side of the road. You have folks insulting each other for trying to take precautions. You see a ton of folks saying "it doesn't bother ME, so I declare the world is fine and safe, and I'm going to go do whatever I want".
If it bothers you and you are scared then stay the frick at home.
It drives me crazy to goto Home Depot and wear the fricking mask just to avoid some crazy Karen yelling at me and see 10 old people just in there casually browsing while not wearing one.
Either lock everything the frick down and make everyone do curbside pick up or open everything back up and let people make their own decisions.
If you are dumb and in a high risk group and go about your business and die then that’s on you

We'll never know if those measures would have been effective or not because they were never implemented. Had they been implemented, and we were still in the same situation we are in now, we could at least say this administration tried their best.
What has this administration done over the past 2 months to quell the spread and prepare for kids to go back to school? What things did they put in place in February, March, and April have helped slow the spread the past 2 months? From my vantage point it seems they've just thrown their hands in the air and walked away from it, leaving it to the states to deal with. Now I don't disagree that the states should be doing a lot of the daily heavy lifting in it, but I also think there should be a strong federal backstop for them to rely on, and several governors have come out and said that has not been there from the start.

We also live a republic and have something called states' rights. These rights allow these 50 states to run their healthcare systems differently and to respond to an emergency differently. Whoever want to give the federal gov more control no matter who is office is a dumbass

You had states openly defying the White House from the start of all of this, yet you think those same states would have followed anything Trump's administration handed down for them to do?

You had hand sanitizer in the car, you has wipes in the car and you've used every other time for months.
Please tell us who's fault it will be if you contract Covid?
