Because scientist don’t know shite at this point so we should play it safe.

There were not.

I don’t think you remember correctly. People on Tigerdroppings were certainly not tracking this since November as OP said. I’ll give you mid December if you want to claim TD was among the first in the world to discuss this.

Every timeline suggest the world was first alerted late December. I find it difficult to believe you remember dealing with this in November

For those who don't realize it, TD is an excellent news aggregator. If you sift through some of the links here, at times you can come across stuff you don't hear about on mainstream media for weeks, months even.

In this case, someone posted some pics of barricades and hazmat suits, and we all wondered WTF was this? And instead of fading into oblivion, more info started to surface. Then someone pointed out there was a high level bioresearch lab in the middle of the province, and things got a lot scarier. That was all discussed long before the WHO made any announcements.

Just for fun, go look up some of the current UFO stuff posted here. Lots of it is normal craziness that would make a good X-Files episode or season...
there's also records of patents being filed by high level Navy folks, and other patents and such. There's links to F-18 cockpit videos tracking things, pilots commenting that they get a lock on something (this, while trying out new, upgraded radar systems). And just for giggles there's Trump's announcement of the US Space Force branch, something that most people still don't realize is actually legit or exists.
If something involving new technologies and space exploration happens in a year or a decade, the media and 99% of the public will react as though it came completely unforeseen.
But I bet you could probably dig through some of those threads, and say "oh, so THAT'S what they were talking about".

It's not a pissing contest.

It was being discussed long before China admitted anything at all, and definitely before the WHO got involved. People were still talking some about the Hong Kong protests. Nobody knew it was "coronavirus".

If you start searching "wuhan quarantine", there was early speculation of a pneumonic plague outbreak in November. NY Times had a story, as did others. There was a case of plague, but that was a couple in Beijing, which didn't make sense for Wuhan. But Wuhan was starting to quarantine.

And this isn’t even a really bad pandemic. This is basically an extended really bad flu season.

Imagine when the real virus that can spread like this but actually kills 5-10% of people shows up.

Downplayed it, was unprepared, lacks direction & planning.

Downplayed it? You know who downplayed it? Not much you can do when you shut down travel to China and the media and other party calls you racist and tells everyone to come out to Chinatown and party. Democrats and the media were actively working against Trump in March until they realized they could use the virus to their advantage.

If it killed 20-30% of the population we would be in a wasteland of disasters. At that point the virus is no longer the big problem as power, water , and basic services are all failed.

several governors have come out and said that has not been there from the start.

It’s pretty self-serving for them to say that, especially if they are a Democrat. That’s not to say that federal response has been totally efficient, but state governors aren’t exactly impartial critics.

Can you link any of these articles? I can’t find any and would be interested in reading. I have found several articles to the contrary of your point.

Little late to call that play. You'd think the scientists would have thought about that when they told us masks weren't necessary in March.

I was saying 20-30% of the population that got the virus, not 20-30% of the actual population itself

Yeah I should give up my job, home and everything I need in my life so an 80 year old can suffer for another couple of years. Yep I'm the selfish one. Aren't these the same fricks who said it was my problem that college cost so much, that is was my problem that they ducked us in every way possible? I'm glad about covid it can lighten up social security some and finally kill off the worst generation.

I am of the mindset put all info out, make sure the public is educated, but let adults make their own decisions. You want to lock yourself away in your house for months on end? Fine, have at it. If I want to go to a bar knowing full well the risks I am taking, why should I not be able to?
