That dude came out the gate like BR's own Woodward and Bernstein. But he found out how the bread gets buttered. Kiran is a cautionary tale to any BR reporters who ask the hard questions. Meanwhile, Nak is now absolute hell on anybody in the other 8 parishes surrounding EBR. He's certainly not afraid to beat down doors in Pointe Coupee or St Helena. The Morganza Police Chief knows he better dot all his i's and cross his t's...

I think a few people know and they are waiting for the reward pot to grow. I bet there will be a big break soon. I already gave my two cents why it happened, but to add to that, at 2:20am, those thugs were headed home and knew they weren't far from their house for concealment. I bet they stay a block or two from the crime scene like on S16th Street, Blanche Ct. or close by.

The DA’s office, OTOH, is probably hamstrung by the quality of cases handed to them by BRPD.

The current DA, Hillar Moore, has NEVER prosecuted a case before he became DA. He was a criminal defense attorney his entire career before. He made a living putting criminals back on the street and the voters expect him to now put them away?

We need a CHAMPION for victims and not someone who walks both sides of the fence.
We need a FIGHTER for victims and not someone who makes excuses.
We need a HERO who will face evil and not someone who makes a deal with the devil.
We need a WARRIOR and not a politician.

Remember this the next time the DA is up for election. Support and vote for the right type of person.

Side note: His brother is a criminal defense attorney as well that practices in EBR.

People love to speculate about gang initiation because they've seen it on TV shows and movies for years. The fact of the matter is there is a huge number of people in Baton Rouge who have no problem committing violent crimes and most know there is a slim chance they’ll get caught.

It could come out that the shooter got pissed off playing a video game and he just decided to go shoot a random person. His girlfriend bitched too much that night. He broke his last cigarette. Whatever. No one would be surprised if it was just some stupid reason because inner city Baton Rouge has become full of people who think they can do whatever the hell they want to whoever they want.

Is Judy, their sister, a lenient judge also? I grew up with the family but haven't been in touch since college days

I’m trying to stay polite with this but I think they had other plans in mind and that went out the window when she tried to escape.

Given what happened with the jogger in Memphis recently, the girl may have been thinking they had the same thing in mind

Yeah, haven't seen it stated here much but I think that was the most likely intention.

1. Some version of carjacking, kidnapping, and rape

2. Simple carjacking

3. Just robbery

4. A road rage or other type of random killing

If the first one is true, then it's a mercy that she attempted to escape, there are worse things than dying in a hail of bullets.

I'm going with this...without rape being a possibility. Rape seems to be more of a 1 person offense

Main issue with Hillar being replaced is finding a candidate who can beat him that won’t get edged out by whatever lowlife sack of shite is run on the same platform that the NO DA used.

Don’t think he is effective but honestly things could get much worse under someone else.

The tPOS will have long rap sheets, when apprehended. Hopefully the DA’s office isn’t too chickenshit to try the 1st degree murder cases with the death penalty on the table. Although it would be better if they were killed in the streets like the animals they are.

Kiran or someone else with a desire for the truth should work on a report focusing on the repeat offenders who eventually turn into killers in this town- and the judges who handled their cases. Especially the case that led to their release prior to the killing.

Remember when a certain VERY controversial judge was moved from the criminal bench to civil court a few years ago? It's time to have another look....

Have more details come out on that front?

You always need to wonder when something comes out that fits a lot of the presumptions folks have about the case, a bit of the fool’s gold or “too good to be true” sort of thing.

Where's the other witness, his passenger? Why hasn't he come forward? Did she even interview him? Why are the cops saying there is no witness? Plenty of other discrepancies like the 10 minute thing. Now her dad's on the news saying he told him it was less than one minute...which is it?

It's not her job to vet witnesses. A potential witness came to her and she talked to him. If the PD says he's full of shite, that's fine. If they haven't even talked to him, that's unacceptable.

If this alleged witness was somehow conjured up then why does the owner of the Shed have the telephone number of the witness? Moreover, the owner of the Shed voluntarily offered to text MP the information, where MP refuses to respond back.

That’s an awful lot of work where it makes zero sense why anyone would lie about there being a witness to the murder.
