The judging is the only issue I have with this event. People pay to be judges and they only get a sample of 4 teams I believe. So it's not consistent, by any means.

re: Aruba - recommendations?

Posted by CajunInFL on 1/27/26 at 1:07 pm to
The island is small, but does take a while to get a round due to lack of major highways. Driving can be a little difficult, but not too bad.

We've stayed at the Divi the first time we went, but have moved over to Manchebo. We've been there 8 times now and can't give it enough of a recommendation. You can enjoy the resort as an all inclusive, but you don't have to, or you can do half and half. The beaches are the best in Aruba.

There is also Bucuti and Tara next door. We've never stayed there, but it does look nice.

Recs are for dinner - Madame Janettes - It really outstanding.
There's a tiny place called the LionFish Snack and it serves Lionfish which is great. We generally eat at Manchebo for our stay.

Bring snokeling gear (or rent it). There are a number of cool beaches and the snorkeling is fantasic (Baby Beach, Mangel Halto Beach, Arashi Beach, and the natural pool)

Local beer is Balashi, they also make Chill was is a great beer, but be warned, they coming in 7oz bottles and aren't cheap. We've started going to the store across the street and getting a case and it's half the cost of the same beer at the resort.

Overall, great island, great people and extremely safe. Enjoy!

Madam Janette’s for dinner. Make reservations.
Haven't found one nearly as good as the IBM code for Hertz. That was epic back in the day.

My wife and I have been about 10 times now. Great town both for skiing and just hanging out.

Secret stash as mentioned has phenomenal pizza (we usually go a few times while we are there, great for large groups, FYI it's unseasonable warm inside, even worse if you are seated down stairs), Ryce for Chinese food, great breakfast sandwiches at the Exxon on 6th street.

I got it for our tailgate this year. We run two TV's and streaming YouTube TV. We get out on campus about 9:00 am and stream all day till its time to break down and head into the game.

I also opted for the 50GB plan.

September we had 3 home games, for those three Saturdays we ran through 91 gigs of streaming. For October we've only used 47 gigs.

Hope that helps!

My buddy and I set up our tailgate right before the rain started. A lot less people walking around for the 5 hours before the rain stopped. After the rain passed it was still pretty thin, but everyone seemed to get to campus around 4ish.
That end was a little weird. You think something happened? Everyone got shooed out of the room very quickly.
I signed up for All-Fi Pro with AT&T with an extender and I'm pulling close to 1 gig/sec on wifi.

re: Verizon service in BR

My wife (sorry no pics) also live by Webb Park. 1 bar at most and wifi calling doesn't work seemlessly. I drop calls all the time. We had AT&T and thought switching to Verizon was going to be better. It's just as bad. I live less than a mile from 1-10 and don't have any service. Finally the Verizon folks are sending me a cell extender (when they are re-stocked) for my house. But it also runs off of WiFi. No there's no real solution when the power goes out.

Infuriating. They wanted me to pay for the cell extender. I said why am I paying more for a service I'm not getting now.

Heading to CB now. We came up here last year at the same time and it’s amazing. The nights get chilly, but so much better than the heat. Hiking, fly fishing, there’s tons of stuff to do!

My wife and I went snorkeling with sharks with her husband Juan in Hawaii right before the pandemic hit. She, unfortunately, was not on the boat with us. But still pretty cool to go with their crew.
He's my cousin. Family stems from New Roads. Good people.
What is the name of this group if you don’t mind me asking?
Prosecution brought in 34 eye witnesses. The defense brought in zero... you be the judge.

Houston BMW dealership has 120+ loaners in their inventory, the great majority of the time all are being loaned out for repairs. There’s your warning.

re: Need guidance on protein

Thanks for the input guys. I really do appreciate it. My wife does not dictate what I eat. I used to cook before she became vegan (very loose vegan, she's not overly strict). I'd say she's more of a pescatarian, but whatever.

Anyway, I realize I need to incorporate more protein in my diet and will start to add in chicken/beef and fish as well.

Thanks again!

Need guidance on protein

Posted by CajunInFL on 6/6/25 at 9:14 am
Been working out for a few years. But I’ve also been fasting. I work out in the morning, but don’t eat until 11-12.

I’d like to get started on a protein supplement, but not sure which direction to go to.

Also, my wife is vegan and cooks most of our dinners. So I’m pretty sure I’m not getting enough protein.

Age - 50, weight 260ish, height 6’2’

Fast during the week, but don’t on the weekends. Eat 4 eggs and an avocado for lunch, whatever the misses fixes for dinner, but generally there are a lot of carbs since she’s vegan.

Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

I have a Gen 2 and just got the ranger as a gift. I wish I could pair them, but they are great speakers and the customer service is top notch.
Was it called Dykiquiri's?
