Female cops are fricking worthless. She just murdered a bystander.
I'm not sure how you could watch that video and not understand how her actions were not warranted.
The perp came right behind the civilian in the same manner only seconds later
And I'm not necessarily a fan of women in the line of duty either

That reminded me of the dude in Dallas that faked one way around the column and then shot the officer the other way.

Several mistakes were made by both
Terrible situation

a woman having zero awareness. no blame? come on.
Based on the video it looked like the civilian just ran up on her while she was engaged with the shooter. Not unreasonable to shoot them in that situation. It sucks and I hate it happened but I don’t think she could have expected to react any differently.
Maybe a Navy seal would have had the awareness not to but it’s a street cop.

There is some blame, but there was an active gunfight, a fellow officer was just shot, and the dude just walked up behind her from the direction that the shooter was approaching.
Crazy thing is, because she just shot that guy, she hesitated on the actual shooter and had to find new cover.
With that said, she should have known the civilian was standing right there, and worked to clear him from danger

That civilian was murdered by the perp

the perp was wearing camo, the civilian was wearing black. I get that hesitation can mean death in a gun fight but gosh dang, ID your target. Looks like she was just ready to pop anything that came around that corner.

And the guilt and trauma she will live with forever is 1000x the punishment she deserves for whatever minuet culpability she has in the death of the civilian.

I hate videos like this. You HAVE to get off the 'X" no matter what. Much like that poor Dallas cop, staying still and allowing yourself to be out menuvered gets you killed.

ETA: Disregard. Rewatched the video.

Another failure of gun control.
Posted on 6/22/26 at 3:22 pm to Loup
The problem is she still hesitated. If the bystander had been the gunman, she would have died by his hand anyway.

If by perp you mean female officer, you nailed it.

True, I watched it again more closely and it looks like the guy was coming check if she was ok and when she noticed him standing there she popped him.

Isn’t it nearly impossible to own a gun in Canada? It’s almost as if gun control is incapable of preventing gun violence.
I'm pro 2A, but comparing gun violence statistics of US and Canada is not the route you want to take to argue for weaker gun laws
The real reason is "culture", not the laws, but that's a topic for another thread.

Did he yell his anti-Semitic rant in both French and English?
If he didn’t, that would be the greatest of his crimes as far as the Canucks are concerned.

I can't blame the female police officer in this situation. She's in an active fire fight. Her partner has been dropped and is bleeding out in the street off to her right. The adrenaline has to be pumping. She's under cover and under fire when this random guy just comes from around the corner. In a moment of sheer terror and panic, she does what any sensible person would do in that situation: she assumes it's the shooter and opens fire. Why would she think a random civilian would be there in the middle of a freaking shoot out?
I hope she lives. Word is she's in critical condition.
