Don't care if you take the vaccine, but herd immunity can be created two ways. Through a significant number of infections or with a vaccine. Vaccination of the population creates herd immunity, if herd immunity is even achievable with this virus.

Asymptomatic people, why are they asymptomatic? Is it magic fairy dust flowing through their blood and immune system that smacks CV19 around?
Perhaps their immune system has something that combats it. Perhaps that something plays into a form of herd immunity?

This thread is a perfect example of America 2020.
1) It ain't gonna impact me, so I don't care.
2) As this thing has gone down, the medical experts have had to update earlier thoughts, so, we shouldn't trust them at all.
3) We've lost all trust in our medical experts.
4) Some people legit still think this is a hoax being used to get rid of Trump, and will magically go away the day after he loses in 2020 (if he loses).

Antibodies are just one part of the immune response. You need to look at the research on T cells.

What’s your definition of hoax? Because people (rightly) believe that it’s being played up to allow widespread mail-in voting that is ripe for fraud.
This isn’t a conspiracy theory, it’s something actually being passed in cities and states.

Sure, but according to the models, if the Ro is 2.5, the herd immunity threshold is 60%, and with the overshoot, upwards of 90% of people would get infected. We don't know about the effects of priming yet, nor can we reasonably ascertain what effects of mutations on the virus will be.
I'm extremely skeptical that priming has occurred, given the overall infectivity we've seen, but I would be glad to be wrong. From what we learned in immunology, the physiology of memory T cell recruitment in the lung tissue varies slightly from the rest of the body, as it isn't driven by cytokine homeostasis solely, but rather through continual recruitment from a systemic memory T cell pool. In order for this continual recruitment to occur, there needs to be prolonged presentation of an antigen. I should ask my micro teacher more questions on the length of this presentation versus other anatomic locations.
