My post that you originally responded to was literally an explanation of the PROBLEM with our debt. At no point did I ever come close to agreeing to it. I was explicitly identifying why it is a bad thing. You even missed that simple fact.

Stop telling people how the economy works; you’re adding more confusion than you’re fixing

As a consumer, you get everything taken from you.

As government, you just allow yourself to print more money to cover it.

If we just made it completely legal to sell alcohol at every single youth sports event like travel ball with profit going to the national debt, I think we could have this knocked out in 2 weekends.

I love the sentiment, but they have the ability to make my life pretty miserable via the IRS.

Economic genius of the OT

With this mindset, I can't wait for the US million-dollar note that has the purchasing power of $100 today

Wonder if it will be as colorful as the Zimbabwe 100 trillion dollars note

Nothing wrong with debt if you have the capacity to handle it. Our debt has gotten so large we don't have the capacity. Interest payments have grown and all it does is increases the overspending every year and the debt continuously grows. It'll blow at some point. It is like a person that starts going to the payday lender every week. They get the payday loan and then have to pay back with interest. Then they do it again and again and again and they dig a hole. The US is the same as the payday lender customer, just on a much larger scale.

All the sudden no one cares about the debt and spending. Bookmarked for the next dem president.

I’m too lazy but you can easily google the negative impacts of a $40 trillion dollar debt.

Osama won. Look at how the debt took off in 2001. One of his main goals was financial ruin for the US.

Only every financial institution, bond fund, pension, money market, insurance company and bank in the world.

Default on that and it’s financial Armageddon.

Well, our interest is about $1T per year to start.

A properly run DOGE could fix this. Instead of firing park rangers, they would attack pork belly spending, and defense contracts. Cutting wages is pennies compared to the billions wasted in contracts approved by our politicians.

I’ll do it if every adult is forced to do it. You have 10 years to make your payment under penalty of death, including basketball Americans.

DOGE should hire the park ranger to look at the actual big contracts.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out we're now paying a private company 10x more to do what the park ranger did.

Warren Buffett back in 2011 made a bold claim on CNBC. He said he could fix the U.S. deficit in five minutes. His idea? Make sure politicians actually feel the consequences of their spending habits.

"You just pass a law that says that any time there's a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election," Buffett said.
