I have said this so many times in the past 15 years.

The jobs now that have college degree required on the posting is complete BS. Unless it’s a specialized type job, you do not need a college degree to do it.

Account management. Really? Its sales. You don’t need a college degree to sell/market something.

There are logistics dispatchers that have college degree required. wtf do you need a college degree for to plan a route for whatever vehicle and load is going out?

HR. Are you F’ing serious? A college degree to do HR? lol

Engineering/architecture/lawyer/doctor/phyics/chemistry yes absolutely you need degrees for those type specialized jobs.

I've been wondering for years why North Louisiana needed so many schools.

I’ve got to imagine some private schools in Louisiana (Loyola, Centenary, Dillard, Xavier, University of Holy Cross) may fold.

How are the rest of the public schools doing with enrollment? Something that's been going on in the last couple of years is increased enrollments at flagships and decreases at regional comprehensives and community colleges. Why? With fewer people electing to attend college there's a smaller pool to draw from. Big schools gotta eat, so they accept more applicants to meet their enrollment numbers. 10-15 years ago a chunk of those students wouldn't have been accepted to the flagship schools and ended up at a regional comprehensive or mid-tier private. So now, flagships are pulling up more students that would have been in the mid-tier pool, and the mid-tiers fight hard to then pulls in more students from the community college pool.

Basically, Daddy's gotta eat.

Lots of these are small liberal arts colleges that were basically just stealing money anyway.

They have exceeded the price that a family even upper middle class, can possibly save in 18 years without living so below their means.

I’m glad it’s happening. I know it’s sad to say but I am glad. frick the greedy bastards.

Tech should be only 4 year public school in North LA. Keep NSU. Keep McNeese. Obviously keep LSU. Keep SLU.

Convert some others to 2 year schools, funneled to closest 4 year school. Close the rest. Consolidate 4 year schools to one administration.

Indoctrination along with a massive campaign that "everyone must get a college degree" that was espoused by every HS guidance counselor over the past 30 years which ensured a massive cash influx for universities.
