It's interesting they are tying an overnight shooting to a bike event that happened at 2pm.
I seriously doubt the crowds for either event overlapped.

They do. Little 500 is a whole weekend long thing on and off campus. The actual bike race is just the reason for the weekend. It's an old tradition and the whole weekend is pretty crazy.
