since destroying my shoulder, I have very limited "overhead" strength so the pull-ups and dead hang are probably out for me.

but the rest I can absolutely do.

Is this for handicapped people? I believe I could do all that at 80.

Yea. Zero chance the average 40 year old is doing all of those. Maybe your average 40 year old who works out and intentionally remains physically active. Most of the OT is definitely not doing these either lol.

A 2 minute dead hang is pretty damn tough and I’m 34 and in shape. It sounds like most of these are grip strength based which I’ve always read is essential as you age. I’ve started working farmers carries into my workouts

I doubt 50% of 25 year olds could pass all 7 of those.

No shite. Not that hard for someone who works out a little. I shoulder shrug 80 lbs for 15 reps. Maybe I'm just a freak of nature.

I can do all of those no problem except for the sit and raise test. IDK why, I lock up in that position. I can do muscle ups, pull ups, squat 400 lbs, do turkish get ups/burpees/etc but can't get up from a damn cross legged position.

1 & 2 - easy

3 - for 2 minutes straight? Maybe but probably not. That is a long time holding that much weight in each hand.

4, 5, & 6 - shoudln't be a problem

7 - not happening . A minute sucks enough

It’s the OT. I wouldn’t expect anything less

When is the last time you did the dead hang or carry? 1 minute of each of those is no problem, 90 seconds would be hard but doable, 2 minutes is really fkn hard.

Hanging for 1 minute puts you above average for 40+ adults. Hanging for 2 minutes sets you apart from the vast majority

This is false.

The reason grip strength is used as a metric is because it is the easiest measure of strength for a clinician to measure. The argument is that grip strength would be representative of overall strength.

a 10 minute mile is basically a really brisk walk right?

There’s nothing easy about farmer carrying your body weight for two minutes. That’s pretty crazy.

That is defiintely the hardest of the 7

The test puts an unusual emphasis on grip strength with the pull-ups, dead hang, and farmer's carry. Popeye would do well. Conversely, the test of cardiopulmonary fitness is a 10 minute mile which is barely above walking pace.

6 mph speed if you are on a treadmill. Not a walking pace for most I would think but it isn't overly fast. Just a steady slow jog. Or maybe I just have a slow walking gait
