I look forward to them putting in place measures and policies to improve the safety here so we can reopen
It's all "defund the police" until your kids don't have anywhere to go during the summer. Then it's "please discipline our children, but not too hard".

until the community grows a set and stands up to the "culture" this will never change.

Imagine that listing Howell Park Life guard on your resume would be a plus down the road. Me thinks next year they will not be able to staff the pool due to this event unless body armor is issued.

Real question... how do you handle an 8yr old with a gun? A 12yr old?
And when the Police were notified that minors were brandishing guns in a public park, what happened?
Were the minors arrested?
Were their parents notified?
Were the minors or their parents held accountable?
Or did nothing happen and they just shut it all down?
Meanwhile, the same youths are out there with their guns and we all know all too well what is going to happen next.

I’m sure gravy will be the leader of this conversation

Yes yes they shouldn’t have accountability and definitely aren’t exposed to it in school then make their own choices Everything and everyone else’s fault
That’s not at all what I said, but ok.
I’ve been suspended from this site 3 times for posting things considered racist by the admins. I’m not defending the hood rats but more so explaining why the hood community is too far gone, I simply dont see a realistic solution.
Burins down NBR is not a realistic solution.

Never built anything.
Incapable of maintaining anything.
Prone to violence.
These sorta people think and live exactly like animals. It's just base immediate instinct with no regard for the consequences or the future.

quote:we all understand what you are saying and you’re right, and this is not something the white community or the government can fix for them. However this particular incident, which I feel strongly is not being given enough attention locally, is beyond that. Those kids were committing a crime yes, but one that does not pay. There was no reward for them here, other than blatant disregard for anything and anyone around them, with a fricking firearm. There’s no coming back from this if this is what it’s come to…armed preteen children breaking and entering just to do it, then menacing the people who are just there to do a job.
All they see is broken families, disdain for work and education, and that crime pays. Hence, that’s what they do.
tell me where we go from here

My opinion only: Juveniles who prove themselves to be a menace to society should ABSOLUTELY lose their right to hide behind anonymity because they happen to be underage.
this town has an army of them doing exactly that. It's time to end this bullshite and become more proactive. They are committing a good deal of the violence in this city. Put the spotlight- and the pressure- on them.

I think being labeled a racist means you’re a rational thinking Adult.
Group B’s city and streets are trash. Group W’s is not . I think it’s the people in Group B.

BREC gotta spend all that money somehow.
I guess the right people got the contracts, so they don’t care if the 8 year olds are packing when hopping the fence.

the funniest/saddest thing to me is that a month ago they couldn’t open liberty lagoon for the same reasons (no lifeguards want to work there). I’m sensing a pattern
It isn’t just that you can’t have a public pool in the hood, you can’t have a public pool anywhere. Some things are simply beyond the capacity of the population to use lawfully. It’s insane we live like this
