35 days sober(alcohol). Longest I've been sober in 35 years. The benefits are obvious...

Lost 6 lbs
More energy
Consistent sleep
Clarity
Less irritable
More patient
Better bowel movements
Any other benefits I can look forward to?
I've been a once or twice a week drinker for probably 35 years... binge drink a few times a month maybe.
I suppose I'm just tired of thinking about the next time I'm going to drink and want to think about, and look forward, other things.
Any advice is appreciated?

All of those benefits you listed will keep getting better. For me better relationships with God, myself and all those around me was one of the most profound results. I was an every day heavy drinker for years and it took a lot to get to where I am today, but I can say that at about a year sober I started to really understand my purpose in life and can’t express how grateful and happy I am to be here today. 35 days is really awesome, great job!

2/20/22 was my sober day. Been going since. The waistline will shrink, sleep will be better, and the fog lifts.
Advice: exercise. Your body will be like “where are those endorphins?” Give them to it through exercise and before you know it…it will be part of your routine. And the only six pack you will see will be in the mirror.
At least a bottle of vodka a day (and whatever beer from the local gas station) for years and was given the ultimate ultimatum and got my crap together.
One day at a time, 12 hours at a time, 6 hours…whatever it takes. It may suck this upcoming football season (at least it did my first) keep a cup of Diet Coke in your hand at all times and that will pass too.
Keep doing the do.

Congratulations!
I gave up smoking on January 1, 2010ish.
One day at a time.
Ignore the voices that tell you that you want what you gave up. Good luck.

I was knocking down at least a six pack per day when I quit. I lost count but that was a few years ago. Now I might have a beer every six months. Hang in there. It get easier and easier.

Smart move.
Keep it up.
Most people poison themselves voluntarily on repeat.
I was the same for 30 years, starting at the age of 14.
No more.

So you quit something you're not even good at?

Advice? I’m about to ask you for advice.
I’m not one of those crazy drinkers, the bottle a day first thing the morning type. More the “just a couple glasses of wine” most nights.
Sunday - evening couple/few.
M- 0
Tues - 0
Wed - maybe. 50/50 for a couple.
Thurs - maybe 50/50 for a couple.
Fri- until feeling right. Not drunk, stupid or sick, just relaxed, like right now is a good example.
Sat - same as Fri maybe a little more right.

Amazing! 35 days is a long fking time.
Nearly 3,200 days of one-day-at-a-time here. It was like being reborn.
If you think it’s what you need, great for you. Stick with it, but don’t try to do it alone. There’s a whole lot of people out there willing to help.

Good for you man, stick with it. If you have been purchasing alcohol at the grocery store, you will see a noticeable difference in that bill. Same if you have been going out to eat often and have a couple drinks every time.

I’m no alcoholic, don’t drink often, but the thought of never waking up with a shitty hangover ever again (physical, moral or otherwise) would be enough for me.
