I'm in this conundrum right now. I want to stop at 2 but wife wants 3. I'm good with 2. Private school tuition for two is enough. For three, we would not be able to vacation as we wish.

3-kid parent checking in... crazy? Yes. Worth it? Yes.
In terms of available free time, going from 1 to 2 wasn't very noticeable for me.
Adding the 3rd changed things exponentially in this regard, because you have to factor in that one or both of your oldest children will be involved in some level of activities (if they are several years older as was my case) and require more attention from you. This on top of being limited to what you are able to do with an infant/toddler.
There are many factors here, it's not just an assessment of numbers. That being said, having children has many intangible benefits that I cannot begin to put in writing. I wouldn't change a thing.
ETA: I see your other kids are still pretty young. So maybe some of the craziness might be mitigated. But it will still be crazy (and worth it
)

Yeah time is now for sure. My ex had an older bro that had that similiar age difference, but had a younger bro that was like 1e yrs younger. Not the same dynamic, but it did help curve some "time to make the babies" push...a bit. Ha.
My sis has a son who is 7-9 yrs older than his 2 sisters, and it's an interesting difference to watch how each interact with each other.

kids grow up long before you have to stop financing thier lives. how many times do you want to pay for college? that should decide it for you.

With the first kid, my wife did most of the work. I helped, but she definitely did the heavy lifting. When No. 2 came along, I had to help A LOT more. Kid No. 2 was a difficult baby, wife had postpartum, Kid No. 1 was 3 years old and very active, so I was scrambling to keep up. By the time we had No. 3, I was used to my new role, wife was in much better mental shape after No. 3's birth, No. 3 was a pretty easy baby, and No. 1 was 6 yrs old by then so not as much of a handful.
