What kinda frickface gets a sport car with an automatic transmission?
Have you seen any new Ferrari's with manual transmissions?
Or Lamborghinis or McLarens or Bugattis or Paganis or Koenigseggs?
I get the emotional draw to a manual transmission but when DCTs are so much faster and manually operated clutches are almost non-existent in pretty much every professional racing series in the world that same shift is seen at the dealership as well.

The reviews are saying to wait a year and get the z06. Let them work the kinks out and the z06 might have the 4.2 tt Cadillac engine.

Wait 'til you buy that corvette and you start noticing other corvettes and whose driving them. You'll feel real frickin' old then.

First, it will likely be closer to 18 months before the Z06 versions hits. Second, while indications are it is a larger displacement version of the 4.2L Blackwing LTA engine I think it is going to be pretty much an entirely different engine. The leaks have shown the turbos not to be in the Hot V position but outboard so the entire induction system will be different including the heads and of course the displacement will be larger for this LT7.
Point being if you are waiting for performance from the factory fine, but if you are waiting for them to get the kinks out you should probably wait at least a year AFTER the Z06 comes online. Remember the C7 Z06 had cooling issues that the Z51 and base did not. With so many sub-systems being different outside of even the engine that will be significantly different than anything they make now a first year Z06 isn't much safer a bet than the first few base/Z51s that come off the line.

Go back to the mass shooting thread. You've cluttered this one up enough
Dunno why you're so hung up on the age thing. The average age of a car buyer is 52. The average age of a Porsche guy is in his 50s also.

Old men have ruined the brand of a great sports car.
Please explain how this works.
They are still a great sports car and regularly win races and championships in IMSA. Dollar for dollar, they’re the best sports car buy in the world, no matter the demo of the majority of buyers.

Easily. And the 2020 version is a game changer in the sports car world.

Does it come with gold chains, a silk shirt and some drakkar noir?

Now the Vette is the new Camero/Mustang.

I’m 40. I do not own a corvette, but I would like to at some point. Maybe in 19 years or so.
I can’t be the only person here who has absolutely no problem with driving a car that is stereotypical of an old white man. Y’all gonna hate on people with successful careers and debt free homes next? I bet a significant portion of those old white men pay cash for their vettes too.

Some people hate just to hate.
Bought my first one at 34, always liked them as a kid.
They've gotten more expensive over the years and they obviously aren't practical as a DD for a lot of folks; that's why they are usually the 3rd or 4th car for a family man.
I'm glad to see they are still a relative performance bargain as that was always their hallmark.
