Agree that LT3/Z51/Front axle lift is at least $75K. That will probably be more that typical price of the car.

True, and quite comical that a new F250 or Denali 2500 diesel can sticker even higher.

At the end of the day, it's still a GM.

But the Ford has a carbon fiber body and is a true supercar. The Vette is a cheap plastic imitation of a supercar with supercar performance. It has a kit car feel to me. It’s too cheap. They should have gone the Ford GT route and went all out.

So you want Chevy to make their flagship sports car from the last 60+ years a 500k supercar?

Right. It's not like they couldnt.

IMO putting up supercar lap times with a 5 figure pricetag car is a more impressive feat. With enough time, money and manpower anything can be accomplished.

No, I want them to make their flagship sports car a Corvette, and also make a $150-200K Zora supercar.

Look no further than the F-4 Phantom II. Essentially a scientific experiment by McDonnell Douglas (RIP) and the USAF to prove that given enough thrust, even a brick can fly. It has the glide ratio of a set of car keys. The immediate action checklist if you lose 1 of the aircraft's 2 engines says, "1. Get out of the aircraft as soon as possible" and then ends.

And, for the Corvette to survive, it has to be stand-alone profitable.

Meaning that, over the life of a given gen, it has to turn a profit for GM/Chevrolet.

GTs are great for Ford's image, but they aren't profitable. They are a halo car for the marque and they help sell Mustangs.

People forget that b/c the Corvette is so great at its price point, why doesn't it have the quality of a Porsche or Ferrari? (I would argue that it is getting closer all the time, but that's another thread)

Well, GM needs sell to 30K of 'em, not 5K.

Most corvette owners use them as daily drivers. Why would they make it something that it's not?
