I like how it has gone from..."meh global warming is causing us to flood like this. These pumps don't have the capacity for these new age rain storms."

- to 4 pumps weren't turned on because they are only for tropical storms.

- to 9 pumps were down

- to 14...

- to 16...

I'll tell you who's fault it is and it's not Mitch...It's them God darn statues coming back from the dead to plague New Orleans with their racist ways.

But na, watching New Orleans go down the shitter is hilarious. Maybe all the oil companies will start moving to the Northshore...Here's to hoping.

The City is responsible for funding the S&WB.

Does maintenance for pumps/drainage etc even come from the city?

Yes. S&WB and DPW worked together on this.

I'm tired of everyone blaming Mitch and the SWB! It's global warming that is causing this, not abject incompetence and disastrous wasting of taxpayer dollars.

The ineptness of our local democrats in lower Louisiana is at a jaw dropping all time high. Not sure why this shite surprises me when I see their Ilk day in and day out. When are the voting public going to wake up and realize elections have consequences?

I flipped through it. No where did I see funding came from the City coffers of general taxpayer fund.

Help me out. I'm not too bright.

I hope people down there take care of themselves because it's going to rain again today it looks like and the Bitch seems content to let NOLA fill up like a soup bowl.

During the 7/22 flooding event a pump ran backwards. You can't make this stuff up.

That doesn't mean it pumped water backwards, just means the pump impeller was rotating backwards. This happens on three phase motors that have two legs wired our of phase.

Problem is, this is the first thing you do before starting up a pump after installation, is you bump rotation. If backwards, the you flip two wire and check again......

Or get a simple $200 meter that checks rotation before you engage anything.

So, Landrieu is the president of the board?

He's the President and he also appointed all the Board members.

Fricking Banana Republics are run better than NOLA.

If another flood happens, I am curious if an insurance company could seek to get restitution from the city. That would be fabulous.
