Sounds to me like gangbangers driving through. The multitude of gunshots suggests a sideways gun position.

I live about 10 blocks away on the uptown side. I was watching TV when I heard the shots. It was an initial burst of quick pops, then a few more pops, like the victim had been wounded and then the killer finished him off. Then I heard the NOPD sirens about 15 minutes later. There was no mistaking what it was.

People do pay a premium to live near the park, but I would not want to. The park is a very creepy place at night.

Sounds like a homeowner caught a 20 something-year-old gangbanger breaking in his car and Dude went ham on him

Wait... you live 10 blocks away (almost a mile) and you were inside watching tv and you heard the shots?

I wonder if the shooter was using a shotgun or some long arm rifle.

Absolutely did. It sounded far off but my wife and I definitely heard the shots. I started looking at my watch to time how long it would take to hear the sirens.

If I've learned anything in my 40 years on this Earth it's don't get in the way of people headed to the gangbang.

I hear gunshots that occur 10 blocks or so from my house all the time.

Had a good buddy who lived in that area. Webster, 1 block off Magazine, Downtown River corner. House was almost completely rebuilt after he died. I worked at AT2's during college and know the area well. This is very unusual for this area.

If the guy was just breaking into a car and got killed, I doubt this ends well for the owner.

Yea, I avoid him when he's there. Most of the bar staff is my age though and have become friends so I stop there frequently. It definitely helps that I can walk easily. I don't go nearly as frequently as a buddy of mine does that is there nearly daily.

I'm betting it was a dude waiting to pick up someone else's baby momma when she got off work at the children's problem center at midnight.

I live on the other side of magazine on Calhoun.

That old children's hospital has always seemed super sketchy to me

You sure you're not mixing him up with the owner of Henry's?

That’s one of the dumbest things I’ve read on this board.

Paying a premium to live in a city that can’t even provide basic services ? Think about that for a minute.

Plus anyone who visit here can just bring a tent and stay under the overpass for free with the other urban campers.
