I like him (if healthy). I think he is a great player. I am not sure I see the vision of how to use him with what we need vs. what we have. Neither he, nor Ginn are slot type WRs. I can understand the philosophy of adding talent and finding a way to use them; however with our limited cap space, he seems like a luxury and not the best fit for what we need.

With Rodgers: 19 receptions (28 targets - 67.86%), 230 yards, 12.11 AVG, 6 TDs

Without Rodgers: 34 receptions (60 targets - 56.67%), 252 yards, 7.41 AVG, 0 TDs

nuts

If he makes it to us he will be a Saint.

I imagine the Raiders or Seahawks will throw him a dumb contract though and he will sign there

Would there be enough touches to keep people happy?

Seriously, anyone that doubts his fit in New Orleans is stupid. Money is the only issue.

Turned down 5 million a year so would probably take 6 or7 but would know he would love to play with Drew

If money is an issue, then he DOESN'T FIT IN NEW ORLEANS.

He would kill it here.

The team with the best QB in the world didn't want him, let's not overreact.

I'd like him as a signing at the right....cheap price but also understand he's nowhere near peak Nelson.

He's not a gamechanger signing.

He was a top 10 receiver in the league
He put up top 10 WR numbers but that was because of Rodgers. He was never a top 10 WR IMO.

He's still very, very good.

Then why did GB decide to get rid of a very, very good WR?

He's 33 and had a bigger contract and the team is rebuilding for the future

They had a ton of money tied up in 3 WRs... makes the most sense to cut the oldest one

So, what do you think he could do with Brees and that offense with the support of a running game? Btw, that would also be 9 games minimum in a dome and not in cold weather in Green Bay.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Same reason 99% of the very good players hit free agency.

One of our biggest problems last year IMO was we couldn't convert on 3rd downs. We lacked that Lance Moore/Willie Snead sure handed safety valve.

I think Nelson could help with that.

Exactly...and would still be an exceptional red zone option.

Mike Triplette said yesterday on AFR something to the effect that Nelson is simply a stretch the field player and wouldn't be useful as a player to run precise routes to get 1st downs. I was screaming "What the frick are you talking about?" at the radio.
