Yal gotta also consider renovations affecting concerts. They'd have to turn down concerts or promote tiger stadium/dome/other venues for a while too if it's a tear down rebuild.
The safer option is to renovate in parts. I've been to new arenas, the layout doesn't matter. The food choices are all whatever anyway. The seating and screens are what differentiates them.

She’s so determined to keep the team here but not determined to win anything? That sounds like purgatory, I’ll take my chances with someone wanting to do whatever it takes to win

This is not a scathing report we thought might come
to gain support for changes. Recommendations like the moving seats and freezers, fine. But I haven't felt like the seats themselves, PA system, exterior light changes to LED, and scoreboard would be near the top of a list because all seem okay.
Was anyone else expecting more serious stuff to come out of this?

They're building that new arena in Baton Rouge, but I just don't think that's viable.
We saw what a shitshow the Saints in Tiger Stadium was. It didn't go well at all.
Probably just have to play in the Dome.

I agree with both of these posts. Maybe you could gut the area and rebuild the lower levels, but that would still require playing somewhere else for at least 1 season.

How about next door?

almost assuredly anyone buying the Pelicans from Gayle means they are looking for a move.

The Pels would sell for $2.5 Billion at least, I don't think the league would allow less. What person that has both Louisiana ties AND loves winning basketball more than money is going to buy the team. Anyone thinking we are likely to get a better ownership situation is out of their mind.

WTF makes you think that? She spends alot of money in renovations, training areas, and on the roster. We are continually in the top 15 of spending in the NBA despite being at the bottom in revenue.

He’s not selling Raising Canes to buy an NBA team. The more likely scenario is you see Master P and Morris Bart putting together an ownership group. And when that happens y’all will be begging for Gayle because they won’t have the funds to pay for any upgrades or anything.

It’s a legitimate question….
Just because we have never paid the tax doesn’t make her a bad owner. We are continually among the top teams in roster spending, usually in the 9-15th range. This is not even including the 100 million or so she has invested the past couple years building new training facilities, locker rooms, cafeterias etc.
She writes the checks, that’s what an owner is supposed to do.

Your language and writing ability show about the same level of smarts as your statement.

Looks like there will be a big renovation now how they pull it off I don’t know but will defer to the construction people and engineers how will they get an extra 2300 lower bowl seats ?
I’m no structural engineer, but I wonder if they can move the suites higher and use that previous space as a steeper part of the lower bowl. Leave the concessions in the same spot….enter through the existing tunnels and have the ability to walk up steps instead of only down.
Suites go where the first 10 rows of the upper bowl are. You might be able to net additional suites if they are higher and slightly further back because the circumference is slightly larger at that level.
I’m just thinking out loud and creatively. This would probably take a few off-seasons as well.

It’s just a sad reality unless graves keeps getting way richer and decides he wants to own sports teams

Isn't there some kind of trust with Lauscha and Loomis or something? I don't remember the ins and outs, but there was definitely a plan to keep the Saints/Pels in NOLA post Gayle.
