re: Commanders Palace brunch/lunch. What to order? - Parrish on 7/7/18 at 2:49 pm
Back from a brunch today and all was very good. We were part if the opening 11am seating so unsurprisingly food took longer to get from the kitchen (many ordering at same time), but everything came out to right temperature. The room captain did apologize for length of time for appetizers (preemptive...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Commanders Palace brunch/lunch. What to order? - Parrish on 7/6/18 at 12:50 pm
I haven't been since about January, but my last two or three visits the food was the same butservice fell short. It's still better than other places, but slower service was noticeable. For example, we had to look around to flag someone to ask about drink refills. Definately a first world 5 star pro...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: AD not pleased with Rondo departure - Parrish on 7/4/18 at 2:10 pm
This would seem to contradict what Joel Meyers has said about AD being consulted and heavily involved in all moves.
Maybe but not necessarily a contradiction. AD may have been involved in decision to offer Rondo up to the full MLE, but when Rondo was offered more + Lebron there was...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Pelicans didn’t even offer Cousins a deal - Parrish on 7/3/18 at 12:31 am
I think it's entirely possible the Pelicans did not make a formal offer in a scenario that they told him to go out and see what offer(s) he could find and then the Pels would negotiate. Something akin to a restricted free agent that the Pels could choose to match. If someone offered him a short max,...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Pelicans didn’t even offer Cousins a deal - Parrish on 7/3/18 at 12:04 am
If you sign someone to a one year deal as a FA, you have no Bird rights to them.
So does this mean that the Pelicans can resign Randle for +20% raise if he opts out after first year, because his contract is two years? ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: ESPN makes billboards luring LeBron for all teams... and NOLA's is actually good - Parrish on 6/14/18 at 12:10 am
There are many creative ones, but the Phoenix artist mailed it in. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: AD knows what's up - Parrish on 6/9/18 at 3:00 pm
One article I read (lost link) mentioned his older kids coming into their teen years and the importance that Lebron *could* place in a city where they'd best be able to grow into better players themselves. If true that doesn't bode well for us....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (3)
re: Morning Call Is Out at City Park Too - UPDATE - Parrish on 6/8/18 at 3:31 pm
Morning Call apparently repeatedly dropped the ball. To begin, the contract was terrible to apparently not include renewing the lease on more favorable terms. They bet on themselves to turn the spot around, they did, and they left themselves open to the whole bidding process to even begin. Then you ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Dinner rec in Gatlinburg - Parrish on 6/8/18 at 2:34 pm
Smokey Mountain Brewery is kid friendly. Think of it like Crescent City Brewhouse in New Orleans. There was a good barbeque place just northeast of town but I can't remember the name. Delauder's reviews well but doesn't look like where I was. ETA: The best restaurant was at the Buckberry Lodge...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
re: Opinions on red-eye flights, vs. staying an additional night - Parrish on 6/7/18 at 7:39 pm
You mentioned being ready to get home so take the red eye and get back sooner. My preference is to sleep in my own bed so I'd also red eye and use the following day to relax at home....

re: Gentry agrees to contract extension - Parrish on 6/7/18 at 11:44 am
Has AD ever come out or been rumored to dislike anyone? He seems non-confrontational. I think he'd like before saying anything negative and feeling like he ruffled any feathers. Even if AD actually likes Gentry, he apparently loved Monty too but was professional enough to move on. If the Pels hav...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Gentry agrees to contract extension - Parrish on 6/7/18 at 11:13 am
One benefit of a bigger body next to AD is that it takes some wear and tear off AD who isn't bumping bodies as often on both ends of the court. The "center" position for the Pelicans may have been drawn up as a mercenary for matchup purposes, but Boogie falling into the Pels lap meant an elite playe...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

Turkey and the Wolf is expanding (...sort of) - Parrish on 6/4/18 at 10:02 pm
