He isn't an expiring.
He has a non guarantee next season, which id assume the Kings guarantee.

They aren't trading him for peanuts.

Logjam at 4 with Barnes and Bagley. Bjelica and Bogdan share an agent. He probably won’t get a 1st that is better than 3-4 high seconds.

Looks like Bogdonavich will be a RFA this offseason.
He turned down a 4/51 deal not too long ago.

Not that i wouldn't want him, but that's one more guy playing the 1-3 position that needs minutes, and he'd without a doubt get them. That means someone is getting their minutes reduced, Moore or Hart, and NAW would probably go back to DNP's.

I'd be more interested in Bjelica.

Sacramento has 3 incoming 2020 2nd round picks, and 2 in '21, and they have their own. Doubt they want more.

Bjelica for Miller and two seconds would be a nice move. He’d fit really well with the Pels. He’s a plus defender and a very good spacer for his position. He’s also relatively cheap for next year.
Would be a really nice bench player. Not sure if the Kings would take that or not, but worth a try.

Couple of NBA deadlines today:
-Last day to sign players to a Two-Way contract
-Last day to apply for a Disabled Player Exception

Today is also the day that trade restrictions expire for players who were re-signed using any form of Bird Rights and got >20% raise in salary.

Translation, Darius Miller can now be traded.

No reason to expect a move any time soon. It will be much closer to the deadline if it happens. Griff from today's presser:

quote:

What we really want to see is what it looks like, and that part has been somewhat complicated, again as I said, you never even know who we're going to have from day to day somewhat. So it's been hard to get a grasp on who we are, but more importantly if we were going to be a buyer, what would we get that's better than what we already have? That's not an easy answer when you can't see the whole thing together. So we're hopeful that we have some time pre deadline to see that.

Name a non star you’d trade the 2020 pick for.
no top 20 players

I’d start with Spencer dinwiddie.
After that, Otto porter

Translation: if guys don't look good next to Zion in the 15 days from Zion's debut to the trade deadline, they could find themselves in another city. It was basically a very subtle warning to everyone else on the team: "Play well, or we will consider upgrading with someone who can help the team more than you."

says every team with a glimmer of hope.

We are going to be looking at how they play with zion on the floor. And, for some, how they
embrace limited roles.

If I look at the potential lineups:

Ball/NAW/Frank
Jrue/Redick/Moore
Ingram/Hart
Zion/Melli/Kenrich
Favors/Hayes/Okafor

Then the places that I think that I can upgrade, based off of what we've seen so far this year, are at backup PG and PF.

But here's the thing: NAW and Melli are the two players who I think will be most improved by Zion's presence on the floor. That's because NAW can and will get to the rim but can't finish, and now he'll be able to dump the ball to Zion, or if he misses, Zion will flush it. And Zion's gravity in the post will open up easy 3s for Melli.

And both of them should be getting better. They are both rookies, and even though Melli is 28, it should've still been expected that he'd have some difficulty adjusting to the NBA game. And both NAW and Melli have looked better recently.

So, maybe we don't trade for someone who can actually help the team this season, because maybe Griffin likes what he has for now. Since we'll be operating over the cap in the offseason, maybe we try to package Miller and Moore into salary or another asset to help the next year.

Gimme Fred VanVleet or Trey Burke and we'd be good.
Trey Burke shooting 47% FG and 44% 3pt

I know he can't be traded until the offseason, but Bradley Beal is starting to make it known he's unhappy in Washington

quote:

As our Fred Katz duly noted from Chicago on Wednesday, Bradley Beal’s pique after his team’s 115-106 loss to the Bulls was real. Really real. A source who was also there told me Thursday that Beal was as angry with and emotional about his team as he’s ever been since being drafted by the Wizards in 2012.
Beal, ominously, said postgame that the frustration he felt Wednesday will continue to build “until we starting winning and changing our culture.”

He will be a target for us in the offseason if he's moved IMO
