Something like seeing LaVert, 13 and 19 going to Atlanta for 6 and Collins. Atlanta may want a little more, or they may have soured enough on Collins to do that.

They have already been trying to move him. They don’t want to pay him the near max deal he would command.

I beg to differ. His stats the past 3-4 seasons are the best of his career besides his 3pt %. If Jrue is more physical and playing better than he did when we traded for him then why would we trade him for half that value essentially just because?

Part of what we traded for was Jrue’s potential, he was coming off of an All-star season at age 23 and no one really knew what he could turn into. Right now, he’s a finished product. Not saying he’s a bad player at all, but there’s no more “unknown” there, potential is always valued more than a known quantity in the NBA, it’s just the way it is.

Another little nugget

Excellent info here about the Jrue and Hawks rumors.

6+something small may be considered but 6+ two young players won't, which seems to be the asking price.

LINK

Seems Atlanta wants a #6+Huerter type deal, Griff wants another piece.

Which is why I try to snag him. He would be a great fit, and if he's not then he's a RFA next season, so you can always get some kind of value back in a trade.

Don’t see how that is even possible if Holiday isn’t willing to opt in or extend.

Seems pretty obvious they will meet at 6+ young asset instead of two young assets.

Seems like 6+ Heurter would be that deal if the trigger is pulled. I haven’t watched a single Hawks game in the past 2 years, can someone give me a break down on Heurter and how he would fit here please?

Eh that’s probably what the Hawks are offering. Griffin is probably starting at 6, Reddish and Hunter.

We had 4 years left of 23 y/o Jrue at $41 mil when we traded for him

Whoever deals for him now gets 30 y/o Jrue for a year at $25 mil

FWIW ppl on the Hawks board are under the impression Jrue has already told them he isn’t signing an extension, so there’s not much love sending out 6 +young player(s) without 13 being involved.

6 + Collins has to the the starting point. We need a big that can defend the paint and shoot the 3.

Collins is a 23 year old that averaged 20 and 10 and can stretch the floor and block shots. I doubt they would do Jrue for Collins straight up

The general speculation appears to be he will go to market and cash on a last deal

Which is why even if we just net 1.6 we will not be doing too bad. I think we get more but at the very least, that’s not terrible

Agreed, I don’t want to be the team that pays Jrue’s next deal. Which won’t really even be our choice as he can just walk. So, getting a pick in the top half of the lottery for him is a win, IMO.

One rumor that emerged Wednesday from the New York Times’ Marc Stein is that Hawks could be a landing spot for New Orleans guard Jrue Holiday in a three-team deal. I was told by multiple sources that the Hawks are not a destination for Holiday. An acquisition of him would have to include the sixth pick and potentially two young players, from what I’ve been told. The Hawks are not interested in making such a move for someone who is 30 years old and on an expiring contract. There’s no doubt that Holiday would be an excellent fit next to Young in the backcourt because of his defensive prowess and ability to be a secondary playmaker, but such a deal would be better suited for a team looking to win a championship this year, and the Hawks aren’t in that conversation. They certainly could be involved in a three-team deal with New Orleans, where the main piece is Holiday, but it’s not a situation where he would play for Atlanta. If the Hawks could just give up the sixth pick and some other smaller pieces, it might be considered, but a deal that involves giving up two young players isn’t in the picture.

It’s a very long article, but this is the part regarding the Pels.

Leaks seemingly from both sides suggests that they both want to make a deal.
