I don’t think Jrue is itching to leave. I think it’s just a business decision in this case. FO trying to do right by him to go to a contender in his prime. Could be extended too

Huerter

Where's he getting minutes on the team? If we have Ball, JJ, Dinwiddie, Hart, Ingram, and NAW getting minutes, I don't really see a spot for Huerter. Obviously right now he's better than NAW, but you don't really want to delay NAW's development by putting another player in front of him. Or, at least I wouldn't think so. He would fit in the Hart role in the rotation, but we already have Hart

You can move guys who are surplus

Think about it as Jrue for #6. Would you do that? I think I would

No.

I would do Lonzo for #6, not Jrue.

I never ask him about trade rumors because it might be a sensitive subject. But we did talk about the uniforms and I think everyone besides Hayes can agree that the new jerseys could be better

There is no way I would give up Jrue, NAW and #13 for Dinwiddie, Huerter and 6.

Huerter and NAW are same age. Huerter is well ahead of NAW in development. He would have some PT as a key player off the bench.

Four Team Trade Idea

Nets: Jrue, top 10 protected future ATL 1st
Hawks: LeVert, Jarrett Allen
Thunder: Capela, Prince, #13
Pels: CP3, Huerter, #6

Thunder says no, also...CP3 would probable only want to come here if Jrue was still here.

Stein pretty much confirms that Jrue will opt out so I highly doubt the Pelicans would invest in Paul if Jrue is planning to leave after the season. That idea probably needs to die.

If we had shown any signs of life in the bubble and made some noise in the playoffs, then maybe adding Paul to win now would make since.....but that didn't happen.

Opting out, and planning to leave are two different things.
He's opting out b/c it's the smart thing to do financially. That doesn't mean he doesn't want to stay here. All indications have been that he does want to stay here.

If he wanted to stay, the Pelicans wouldn’t have openly put him on the block. All signs are pointing to Holiday looking to leave.

Wouldn't have guessed this. I thought Huerter was at least 24-25.

Holiday and Ball cannot play in the same backcourt.
One of them has to go.
We can get more for Jrue than Lonzo.
Jrue is not on the block. We are just listening to offers. If the right offer comes along, then maybe we make a move, but it's no big deal to not make the move if you don't like it.

I also think we can get similar production from Hart to replace Jrue, and for a lot less money, so there's that too.

Why not? That is 3 players that can be on this team long term and have an impact considering the #6 pick. I really like NAW but he has very little trade value and if a team wants him in order to fill a PG/SG hole then he would be attached. Other than that people here were already talking about a Jrue trade for just #6 and Huerter. Are you saying Dinwiddie isn't worth #13 and NAW?

correct. I wouldn't trade two first round picks in the teens for Dinwiddie.
Hell i don't even think he's a good fit on this team.
