It would be a dream for Hawk to down the road become a 20ppg player that shoots 43% from 3 on 8.5 3pg. So every Pels fan would love for him to become a... 32 year old CJ.
Yes I understand.
I also understand Hawks' value should only increase every year and CJ's value will continue to decrease. So if you truly want (2) more years of CJ and a lesser chance of competing for championships/ trading for stars then go ahead.
The point is to acquire players such as Trey/ Zion/ Herb/ Dyson/ Hawk in the hope that they make your older expensive players expendable....
If we get to that point and keep them solely for an emotional attachment of wanting to win with them > cutting our losses to get better.. Well
Yeah CJ has been great and he was only a small part of the issue. But he also IS NOT the solution.
That has to be understood. ANYONE that isn't the solution is replaceable until we win a championship.
I don't give a frick what CJ did for us last year/ 2 years ago. What can we get for him to help build for the next 5 years knowing his value will only decrease.
Did CJ help us get to the playoffs? Yes.
Was CJ a difference maker to get past the 1st round? The answer is that he's replaceable.

You can have two closers in Zion and Trae. When Zion gets taken away trae will figure it out. When Zion gets doubled trae will be open for the easiest 3pt shots of his life.
We had just that this year with BI and Zion. Trae gives you a lower percentage shooter than BI, but I'm sure that won't matter.

CJ didn’t win multiple chips and CJ isn’t paid the kind of money Klay has gotten.
CJ has absolutely crumbled in our two playoffs series. He was the main reason we didn’t beat the suns.
If he doesn’t want to come off the bench, no problem trading him.

No we didn’t, Trae actually shoots threes, can handle the ball way better than BI, and can pass better.

What also doesn’t matter is you taking into context how many 3s BI shoots compared to Trae.

The "trade CJ if he doesn't want to come off the bench" talk is idiotic. They aren't trading CJ, at least not this year, and they aren't going to ask him to come off the bench. Just get used to it. Build the roster better and his deficiencies are under a microscope less.

A lot of PG to GSW smoke rn.

CP3 back to the Clip Show as part of that?

No we didn't. Trae has a completely different shot profile from ingram and is a better distributor.

A bunch of it to. Opens up another 3-4 team possibility with BI to Clips, Warriors assets to Hawks, Trae to Pels

Bam signing 3 year extension.

If I'm going for inefficient chukkers, give me the one who is a threat from 3 the minute he crosses half court, can pass, has actually made many clutch shots, can get to the FT line, and has won multiple playoff series with inferior supporting cast vs.
The guy who plays like it's 1999, can't get to the line, doesn't sell calls, can get completely dominated by mid-tier defensive bullies, is about the most unclutch dude in the league, seems high 99 percent of the time, and on and on.

Trae also gets fouled and can get to the ft line as a closer.

This is a really odd thing to say in support of Trae Young.

Yes this could be used for trading for Trae Young. But you literally pulled this quote completely out of context in a discussion I was having with SFP arguing about the value of trading for certain players.
Be better Jester.

Trae is a way better ball handler, and draws a lot more fouls than BI. We would have 2 guys in the top 10 in free throw attempts with Zion and Trae.

And then could you imagine Zion’s FTA with Trae teaching him to work the refs?

Not to mention the pressure on the defense that would be created by their gravity. You'd have Zion pulling gravity to the rim, and Trae holding his own on the perimeter making shots for the other 3 players on the court very open.

Lmao, bruh who do y’all think Sengun is?
One of the best young centers in the league?
I wouldn’t trade him for Durant right now.

What would a Pels Cavs trade look like? Definitely around Garland and Ingram or could it be Allen and Ingram?
