Love how Kessler protects rim. He will have to stay out of foul trouble moving on. I really want Kessler so it won’t happen.

Great rim protector,. but a lot of flaws in his game. Still very young thought. Could not be main piece we get from a BI trade though.

I give it a more than 50% chance right now.

Leaks are that DeRozan is linked to Miami.

Not sure what that means for their other pieces. I’m assuming a renewed push to try and dump Vuc and LaVine.

We may just trade picks for Kessler is what I am thinking. As season moves forward could get something of value from a team in contention.

I say 80/20 chance BI is traded in the offseason.

I don’t think that matters here because the Lake Show has full Bird rights.

Normal no trade on a one year contract is when someone would lose Bird rights through a move.

I'm pretty sure that any 1+1 signed with your current team has an implied no trade clause, regardless of Bird Rights.

playing services called for under his Contract cannot be traded without the
player’s consent

Absolutely not

We don't have the salary space to keep BI and bring on a center (without going into the tax), under most circumstances.

ETA:

Let's say he's on the roster at the start of the season, and we just trade pick(s) for Kessler, what's our lineup?

Kessler
Zion
BI?
CJ
DJ

Are we really going to bench Herb for a player that isn't in the team's long term plans? We can't send BI to the bench because that'll hurt his value. It just doesn't make sense to have him around at the start of the season, unless for some reason they trade CJ, but I don't see that happening.

I don't think BI is on the roster for several reasons:

1. We don't want him anymore despite Griff's words. The bridge was burned when he had his scuffle with Willie.

2. Why frick up team chemistry with a dude who doesn't like the offense we want to run? Let's go into the season with the style we want without a potential malcontent.

3. Let's say BI and WIllie are cool and he buys in. Great. But then he gets his usual BI slapped head concussion or bruised toe and misses 30 games. We're fricking stuck with him.

Not worth the injury or disruption to our flow risk.

Yeah, you really need to cut your losses and let the new core establish itself.

Agreed. Hawk needs his minutes and we need to see how CJ/ Murray work together. CJ/ Hawk decide our next move, they need to be maximized to know what happens next.

I still think someone wants Jose and I think he goes out with a Kessler trade.

Hawk and a first for Kessler I think is doable if we really want to get serious. Then I still like the idea of adding Theis at something fairly small.

Solidify your roster and continue to hold on with BI until someone gets desperate.

No, Jose is the odd man out. We just got a guy who will take 30min ahead of him that does everything better besides being sneaky. I love Jose but its the truth. He's easily the most replaceable asset with the highest value and limited role that we currently have.

Replaceable? Yes.

Highest value? Not really. Hawkins is a 1st rounder with shooting potential who is still on a rookie deal.

Jose makes shite for now but is about to get a new deal after the season.

Agreed and I imagine Jose's new deal will be pretty affordable as well. We'll need him as the primary backup PG once CJ leaves.

Hawkins is potentially replaceable. Maybe not as easy as Jose but he brings in bigger bait because of his contract situation and potential.
