The articles about the trade say that the 2021 Portland pick is protected, but most other sources say it's not protected

Lol @ people saying they wouldn't give up BI to land Dame

I'm a huge BI fan but I would definitely trade him for Dame. First I would try everything but BI and Zion and see if that's an option. I think a team of Zion, Dame, and BI has real potential. Even with our market I think we could get some free agents to fill out the team because of the pull of those 3. If BI is in the package then that really takes away from the other pieces i would include.

That's a WCF team.

Did I stumble upon the NBA2K21 forum by accident? Perhaps this should be moved to the gaming board.

I think the odds that Dame is on any other team next season has to be pretty low.

I agree, although that could change as the deadline approaches.

He will start the season with the Blazers. If things aren’t going well, I could see a mid-season trade.

True. But this is the NBA. We never thought we'd get a guy like Demarcus Cousins in a trade either.

Maybe Portland GM thinks Kira is the next Chris Paul hahhaha

I think they try and trade CJ first and see if they can improve that way. Then see how it’s working around the deadline

Jason Kidd has had his name put out there for every job for the last few years. Now he withdraws from consideration when he might have the inside track to get a job?

I thought the MSB comments saying Kidd and Billups were choices that would be politically unacceptable in Portland so Dame could say “I gave the team a chance to save this” were conspiracy theories. Maybe that conspiracy theory has some legs.

I don’t know. They look like a team on the verge of blowing it up. Especially with Stotts out and Kidd off the table if that’s really who Lillard wanted.

Yeah, I just realized that Portland is going to have a tough time getting anyone good, because everyone knows what they are doing. They aren't going to contend, and there's an expectation of getting past the first round that isn't all that likely. Who would want that?

My theory was supremely based in the scenario that it will take to land him here. It's merely step 4 of 10000 hahaha

Yep, it will either be a late offseason deal, or trade deadline deal to get him.

I don’t know about that. Things can ramp up quickly. I feel like this offseason will be a pretty big arms race. Playoffs loaded with new faces. Bet a lot of teams think this is their chance to take a big step and get in the mix.

Hopefully teams like us

Does Lillard age like Curry or Kemba?

If he ages like Curry then we have a top 3 PG for the next several seasons.

He hasnt yet, but if he starts aging like Kemba and a lot of undersized shoot-first point guards, it's a big risk.

If he starts to age like Kemba, we have a 45 million dollar anchor that ensures Zion is plotting his exit early in his next contract.

To be clear I'm willing to take the risk, it's just worth considering.

I see zero indication he would age like kemba. Do you?

This

Usually if you pose a question like that, there's some link or reason to think it's possible he goes down either route, but like you said, there's nothing to suggest he'd go the Kemba route so it's definitely an odd question IMO.
