He was the best player on the floor with 20/10 until he was taken out with 10pt lead with 6:40 left in the third. Our coach was their best defense again tonight.

And he started the 4th with a 13 point lead and he proceeded to to just drive and get his shot blocked or miss layups. Willie sucks but at least he had Trey out there with Zion but for some reason Zion just ignores him. With how much gravity he creates he could sit up Trey for so many looks that is what Zion did last year

His ceiling is much lower than just about everyone thought.

People keep referring to Zion getting taken out, but perhaps he was just gassed and/or the staff was trying to keep him fresh for the end of the game, due to all of his poor 4th quarters this season. It didn’t seem to work, but don’t blame Willie. Blame Zion for still having conditioning issues that the coaching staff still has to attempt to manage halfway through year 5.

When did he get his 5th foul?

Zion was 7-17 with 6 turnovers. With the level of defense that he plays, that's nowhere near good enough.

Trade BI and build better shooting around point Zion.

I'd rather try building around BI or once. This is 3 years of building around Zion and him not being up to the task.

The thing is, Ingram isn’t a number 1 guy on a contending team.

You need to ‘Steve Kerr’ your ‘Mark Jackson’ or absolutely none of it matters anyway.

I understand your frustration, but you and others are wrong about Ingram. He can create his own shot, and he actually plays some defense.

He's the closest thing we have.

We know he's not a #1. The question is whether he's a legit #2. That's not a given either.

Are below average or just average efficiency volume shooters who don't do anything else very well scream #2 to you?

I'm being objective here, you're the one lacking self awareness and giving out blind homer takes.

There is absolutely a question of whether BI is good enough to be a #2. Sorry if that hurts your feelings.

He had 19 potential assists last night and has had solid to high assists majority of games. He had 4 blocks as well and overall has played with solid intensity. Im not a huge BI fan but he can easily be a solid number two- but again depends who you’re number one is.

He had blocks/steals last night. Overall, he's not a very good defensive player, likely below average. The most optimistic possible take would be he's average defensively.

Passing, you have to compare a dude to his peers, not the league as a whole. BI is 38th in the NBA in assist %. A shite ton of dudes average 5 assists per game, so it's tough to argue he's an elite or very good passer. Compared to other #1 and #2 dudes, he's ok, he's solid.

Nothing he does stands out over his peers passing. Same goes for defense. So what does he do that separates himself from everyone else to be a #2? I don't see it.

I compare him to Carmelo Anthony. He has such a strong and deliberate on ball style of offense that doesn't allow him to be a complimentary piece as a #2 guy on a championship team. He can only be effective playing his brand of ball. See how his coaching staff phased him out of the world cup and he was pretty ineffective when he was asked to take a backseat.

Oh, so we have a large sample size of him playing with a true #1? Because the closest I've seen is a dozen or so games with prime Zion. Otherwise, BI has been asked to carry a roster built to fit Zion, not BI.

Oh, sure, you are definitely the king of objective discourse.
