It is one of either dragic, Middleton, or Barnes.

Butler is a pipe dream.

I wonder if there are possibilities of a three team trade that involve Kevin love.

The bucks get love, Pelicans get Middleton, cavs get teletovic, Moore, ajinca and a Pels first rd pick and diallo.

Yeah, Saric would have more value in a trade to SA than our 1st.

Very likely the case, but if you believe reports:
quote:

San Antonio has asked Philadelphia for three future first-round picks and two current players in exchange for the 27-year-old forward, according to a report from Yahoo Sports.

Roco ($10.4M) and Fultz ($8.3M) for Kawhi ($20.1M) works. If the Spurs want picks for 2019/2020 and the 2021 MIA pick, then the Sixers likely need to acquire one more pick.

Saric is probably worth more than our 2019 1st and MM said we would be trading a player and a pick, so likely not him, but he just came to mind because I remembered Dell traveling to Croatia to scout him back in the day. However I would imagine we would be seekign a better perimeter defender anyhow.

Why would Minnesota want to trade Butler for our scraps? They should be able to get a much better deal if they are serious about trading Butler.

Would be virtually impossible to make the money work. He's making 24 million dollars.

Dragic

Came to mind since he always lights us up and Dragic for Solo/Anjica is neat and saves them $5M for 2020, but that doesn't do anything for the Heat. Cannot see Riley tanking now.

Ballhawk's list:

quote:

Maurice Harkless
Khris Middleton (yes please)
Kyle Lowry (don't think we have the capital)
Kevin Love (redundant)
Marc Gasol
Jeff Teague
Jimmy Butler (not available)
Harrison Barnes (yes please)
Jae Crowder
Jonathon Simmons (yes please)
Goran Dragic
Paul Millsap (not available)

Only guys on that list "better" than Simmons that could also be somewhat attainable are Dragic and Mo Harkless.

I guess it depends on the subjectivity of "better". I also don't think a guy like Middleton could be got.

Yep. That is why I suggested Saric. That must have been a reply to another list and I misread.

Almost any player in the NBA "Could" be had. Just depends on what you are willing to pay. I don't think Dell lands this guy, but he is trying.

If I am Dell, I am patient. Almost all teams are optimistic in July. By February, reality has set in and the same team that is laughing in your face about a deal is begging you to offer that same deal again. The better value always comes in February in trades

I think there can be three team trade scenarios where Kevin love is involved that could be interesting.

I am not sure how many first round picks team are dangling out there. Cavs are in rebuild move and should be looking at acquiring future assets at this point.

So we need to look for a team that would be willing to trade a wing for Kevin love where we get the wing and the cavs get some assets (diallo, first rd pick, Moore)

Yeah, Barnes is the closest to checking the boxes of being a useful player on a team that won't make the playoffs, but Dallas doesn't look ready to tank. To make the money work it'd have to be Ajinca/Solo/Moore. I'm just not sure that returns Cuban enough useful present value to do it. They're signing DJ and I think they want a shot at the playoffs.

I am sure they think they can make the playoffs today. By January or February, reality will say something different

You obviously know I meant a guy we could get for the price we would be willing to pay and the assets another team would want.

That's 100% true, but despite extensions, there is probably a little bit of pressure on Dell/Gentry to start the season off in winning fashion given last year's end, and the approaching Davis Supermax.

You will start next season with an even better roster than the one that swept Portland. Solo should be better. Niko will have had a full camp. The 7-11 bench spots should be better. Why shouldn't you be able to win early while you wait for Boogie and the right trade?

Butler
Middleton
Crowder
Simmons
Barnes
in that order, not interested in the rest.

Reading between the lines of the comments Crewz has made I lean to it being either Barnes or Middleton.

Barnes could be attainable, but the cost will be high knowing Dallas and they have delusions of grandeur that they are going to compete this year.

Middleton falls under the same category but doubly so in my opinion. The East is weaker with the LeBron departure, so the Bucks have to feel they finally have a shot with their length. I don't see why they'd pull the trigger on trading a guy of his caliber right now.

I've heard multiple reports that Harkless is available, so that's why I sort of rule him out...for now.
